Both times we have hiked up here once in October, and once in April the trees were too overgrown to have a good view. Fun hike, but no view. More

You can't snorkel and drink rum all the time while visiting Virgin Gorda. Burn off a few calories by hiking to the viewing platform at the top. The views are stupendous of the North Sound and in all directions. Nothing obstructs your view. Only do this hike on a clear sunny day. More

March 23, 2012 Tortola, B.V.I. was our first port after 3 days at sea on Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas 12-day Southern Caribbean itinerary. I debated on a ship-sponsored shore excursion. Although not terribly expensive ($59 per person), the adventurer in me wanted to try getting to Virgin Gorda (“Fat Virgin”) independently and cheaper. Still wary of getting back... More

We arrived on Virgin Gorda, anchored in a small, peaceful bay along from The baths and checked in. Do not head to the Ferry dock to check in as advised in the guides as the guards will shoo you off or worse, if you leave your dinghy it may be damaged by the ferry who will come in and dock... More

We were on a cruise ship and only had a day there, we booked an independant tour with Sean of Mahogany Tours and he was great, he took us around the island and we also went to The Baths, from a snorkelling point of view it was too rough, rocky and no real reef to speak of, and too crowded... More

The walk was nice for me, but a little too difficult for young children (five years old). It took about a half an hour through the woods. When we got to the top, the view was beautiful. Parking by the upper entrance is better than the lower one. The path is cleared a little better up there. More

I love the climb to Gorda Peak. It's a very easy climb, even for the inexperienced. You can spot tons of hermit crabs on the way up. Go near sundown for a spectacular sunset and make sure to bring your flashlight for the walk back. And bring bug spray! If the day is clear enough, you can see all the... More
