We like to hike and it was good to find some nice trails on Virgin Gorda where the emphasis is generally on water sports. There are two routes to the top of Gorda Peak and we took the long way which was only about 30 min or so for us. This was the route without stairs at the beginning. When... More

We took the short hike--30 min one way. It was a bit rough terrain but not too bad. The view when we got there was spectacular and well worth the climb! you have a 360 view of the island and all I can say is WOW! on the way down we saw 3 brown snakes (no idea what kind) on... More

We did the 50 minute hike up to the top. The observation tower at the peak is a nice reward, especially for the kids, and the 360 degree view is beautiful. The trail was a bit muddy at times (more rain than usual). We saw a garter snake, a huge hermit crab, some lizards/geckos and lots of butterflies. The plants... More

A great hike that rewards you with a spectacular view of the BVI's from the viewing platform Wear a good pair of shoes, take a hat and water and don't forget your camera. I will be heading back up there again this winter. I never get tired of the view.

There are two entrances to VIRGIN GORDA PEAK, and they are located on the mountain road heading up toward North Sound and Leverick Bay Resort and Gun Creek. The trail is not difficult to climb, and you'll see much of the flora and fauna of the area while you climb to the top of the trail. You can see many... More

A nice hike up to Gorda Peak. Park alongside the road and start at the trailhead. The path is up, but not too bad. The first part was rocky but smoothed out after 50 yds. Saw lots of butterflies and flowers. Even saw a small Garter Snake. Huge Silk Web Spiders made interlocking webs with their friends at the base... More

A really beautiful place to visit, all the islands in the British Virgin isles are lovely, real island atmosphere, crystal blue clear waters, amazing snorkeling and diving opportunities.

I like seeing the interior of an island instead of just the beaches. It was a nice change of pace in a week of activity. I wouldn't put it on the must do list. Its a long muggy walk and the vistas are comparable elsewhere. The wildlife, which included non-venomous snakes and hermit crabs, was interesting. If I went back... More

We did the full 50 min hike (there is a shorter version, up the hill). Its a fairly easy tropical jungle hike. I was amazed at the creepy crawlies that we saw along the way, thankfully, no snake. Our 7yr old skipped up and down effortlessly, while our 4yr old was okay, at best.

Start from the bottom opening of the trail, about 45 minutes to the top. Take bug spray and watch out for snakes. Beautiful hike and lovely views once you reach the top.
