We took a small bus tour of the island after our scuba diving trip turned into a disaster. We began the tour at the cruise port. We learned a lot about the island. We got to visit a sugar cane museum, rum distillery, and a gorgeous beach that had tiny fish that would swim next to you!

The beautiful 4 acre botanic gardens are in the centre of Road Town and are worth a visit even if you have seen others on the BVI or Caribbean islands. Walk along narrow Main Street which runs through the centre of town and retains loads of West Indian charm with colourful traditional wooden and stone buildings. Look for the 19th... More

We were in Tortola for a cruise stop. The countryside is beautiful. The ride to Pussers Landing was winding and got to see lots of local flavor.

We were interested in a rental car for our vacation on Tortola. I read some other reviews of car rental companies on Tortola and decided on Dede's. The car was almost brand new. In perfect condition and just what we needed. Here's the most amazing part. Dede's arranged to have our car waiting for us at our villa upon our... More

My family and I visited Road Island, Tortola, BVI on a recent cruise. The Island is one of the better islands on the itinerary. When you arrive you will find many offers to take you around the island. We were reluctant at first to take one of those tours but because we liked the `guide` (Captain Friendly) we decided to... Thanks to Trip Advisor, I knew that we did not need to pre-book a tour of Tortola. After exiting the port and information area, we saw a line-up of open air jitneys with drivers offering excursions. We were fortunate to connect with Kumba, the owner/operator of African Pride Tours and Taxis. As his jitney was already full with 20 passengers,... More

This is a beautiful island with breathtaking views of the many beaches along the way. Visited a small museum in town that was really quite interesting -- history, plants, animals, life on the island, etc. Also had an art collection as well. The wall murals along queens highway (think this was the name) were well done by Ghost, AT and... More

We schedule a tour of Tortola to see the highlights of this Island for a future visit. The bus was a small van type bus, held 20 persons. The driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. We visited all parts of the island from the airport to the highlands, and the various beaches were also pointed out and we stopped for... More

We hopped off our cruise ship and since the weather wasn't very nice did the island tour. The tour guide on this 20 person + plus bus/truck was Chris. He was a retired officer/customs agent for Tortola. First stop was a small museum, then to a look out where Chris will tell you all about the islands around the area... More

If you are in Tortola on a cruise for just one day, a jitney bus tour is the best to see how much as possible of the island. Such tours typically charge US$20 per person for a 3 hour tour. They will take you to the same spots offered on the cruise ship for at least twice that amount. If... More
