We went to at least 10 beaches in St. Maarten. Kim Sha was our favorite. Super clean, of course warm water, great for walking, swimming or just cooling off after a hot day shopping! Plenty to do with kayaks, paddle boards, wind surfers, but the best part was that it wasn't crowded! Hoping we find it that way when we... More

There are several nice restaurants around Kim Sha beach, however the beach itself has deteriorated over the past years. My suggestion is if you have a limited amount of time on St. Maarten and you're only going to Kim Sha for the 'St. Maarten beach experience', visit other beaches. You won't miss out if you do not swim at Kim... More

Buccaneer Beach Bar right there..lovely little beach with parking on site. Rent chairs and umbrellas for 15-20 a set up. Had a great burger there. Minutes from our resort and enjoyed a great day!

We got chairs and umbrella and spent the day. The water is very calm and nice. Some ladies on the beach asking to give massages - they were very nice and polite. Some water activities going on, which we didn't use. Got some good drinks from beach bar. Would go back again.

This is a great stretch of sand with a few watering holes. When the easterly trades are howling, this is the beach to be on - calm and downwind. The Atrium, La Bamba, Buccanneer, Toppas, Simpson Bay Yacht Club, and many others are close by. A go-to place.

This beach has litter and muck all over it. There is a section where they rent chairs and umbrellas. There are two restaurants next to it so it's easy to get a drink or food. It just needs to have some care keeping it clean.

I've seen mixed reviews of Kim Sha beach, but my experience was quite good. We stayed at the Atrium, and went to Kim Sha a few times. The Buccaneer and Atrium beaches are cleaned daily. There was some seaweed on the other side of the beach, but nothing crazy. The water is calm, gentle, and clear and is home to... More

Beach area clean with plenty of loungers. Water was clear and comfortable to swim in. Dive shop on site.

Ironically, I would think that if there are so many tropical fish to be seen whilst snorkeling off Kim sha - along the wall of the hotel, that it would have to be pretty clean. But then I saw toilet paper floating around and remembered that it had been raining, so I left the fish to their feeding. I will... More

We accessed this beach directly from our resort, The Atrium. The resort had umbrellas and chairs for their guests. The water was calmer than other beaches on the island and the sea floor more sandy than chunks of coral. Water shoes were unnecessary. Sunsets were beautiful.!
