We had a great time exploring this fort and taking in the breathtaking views! Just gorgeous and a must do in Sint Maarten!

Our family climbed up to the top of Fort Ft. Louis. I have a bad knee so it was way more steps than I should have attempted but the views were great and the kids loved running around at the top.

It is a little hard to find the road to it and expect a climb on concrete walks. But we really enjoyed the view of the harbor and a ground ship that has been around for some years. We think maybe the ship could be made into a living residents. NOT

For beautiful views of the island, go to Fort Louis in Marigot. Easy to get to and well worth the trip. A must see when in SXM!

My husband and I were intrigued by the dual history of the Dutch and French on St. Martin/Maarten, so we hoped to incorporate pieces of history from both sides of the island. We only managed to get to a French fort, and Fort Saint-Louis did not disappoint in terms of self-guided tours. The views from the hilltop were quite spectacular,... More

Worth the hike up in the sun! We came from Grand Case on the bus, and just followed the signs from the bus stop. Amazing views of Marigot and the Ocean! Next time I'll be back for the sunset.

Can't tell you how many times and people we have taken here! LOTS of steps so don't wear heals (I did my first visit)! Make sure to take your camera because the view is incredible! Unfortunately it is getting a little run down, needs some maintenance but hello it is OLD! Do watch your children careful because if they fall... More

The fort is located on a hilltop in Marigot. From the port of Marigot you can see the French flag fluttering in the fort. The sunset seen from the fort is very beautiful.

As people have mentioned - it can be a little tricky finding the stairs/path up to this fort -- but once you do it is a quick climb to some amazing views. We found the path as someone told us to look across the road from La Vie en Rose. It did work. The fort itself is some neat old... More

Beautiful seaside open market. Market Vendors sell a variety of clothing articles, souvenirs and some spices. Some vendors of Haitian and they sell crafts that are more indigenous to Haiti than Sint Maarten. Prices are not final, be sure to negotiate purchase price.
