Just a short water taxi ride from where your cruise ship docks in Great Bay Beach. The beach itself is very wide so no matter how many ships are in for the day you can find a spot and rent a lounger and umbrella for a few hours. The water is nice and refreshing and the surf is not too... More

The crowd level on this beach is directly proportionate to the number of cruise ships in port that day. However, there is plenty to do and plenty to look at. No shortage of food and drink here.

This beach was warm and oh so blue. The only thing to beware is of the dip off the shore. I especially liked that there were NO locals on the beach trying to sell us stuff. So peaceful!

We stopped at st maarten on our cruise. We didn't book an excursion so we decided to just go to this beach as it was close to ship. We were the only ship in port that day; I imagine if there were more ships, it would have been quite busy. We paid $7 per person for the water taxi to... More

Loved the beach. Nice boardwalk along the beach for a good early morning walk or jog. The water is very nice but a bit on the deep side as you walk in, wasn't ideal for my toddler with me in the water but on my own it was no problem. Nice area to sit and look at the cruise ships... More

After a bike tour and lunch, we were ready to hit the beach! Rented an umbrella and 2 chairs for $10, and took in the beautiful water and views for hours. Close to everything! Took the water taxi back to our cruise ship and loved that, too!

Gorgeous beach, lots of amenities and activities, lots of great shops and restaurants! Love it! A must for visitors from cruise ships or visiting the island for a week or more!

Not sandy - kind of like ground rock and seashells where we were. Further down on the public beach it was very very busy but the sand seemed more like sand there. Water is a beautiful turquoise colour.
