Great Bay Beach is right in Philipsburg near all the action. A good spot to watch the Cruise ships come and go and grab a bite to eat. Worth the trip over there.

This is a gorgeous, huge stretch of beach. The water was calm and warm. There are lots of close restaurants and shops along the boardwalk.

The only downfall is that there is not a lot of shallow water so you have to be a good swimmer. We swam in Great Bay every day and loved it!

This beach is convenient to both the town of Phillipsburg and the nearby cruise port. The beach is very clean and has extremely calm water, perfect for small children. On our recent visit, there was also no seaweed at this beach, which made it the perfect spot to relax in the water. Fees for the beach chairs are nominal and... More

Not your romantic, palm tree, endless horizon beach, but pleasant enough and really close to the town and port. Rented beds and parasol, and had the ubiquitous bucket of beers delivered. Busy beach. Food nearby, as lots of bars/restaurants on the board-walk.

We got off the cruise ship, took the water taxi, found a young man offering chairs and umbrellas on the beach and had a wonderful end to our vacation taking in the views and relaxing. This beach is close to food and shopping. It is clean and wonderful, there are a lot of vendors selling items but we were never... More

Came here on our cruise, spent from 7:30 am to 1 pm on this beach. It's within walking distance from your ship, 15 minutes. Tons of shops and places to eat, a very nice and clean area. The beach is very spacious, with people renting chairs and umbrellas all along the beach. We were there so early we got our... More

If you want a packed bustling beach, this is it. Most places will give you 2 beach chairs, umbrella, bucket of beer and wifi for the day for $25. But if you walk about 10-15 minutes off the main square, you can just lay out a towel and enjoy a much quieter scene.
