Owner description: The Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit, nestled amongst Front Street's duty free jewelry stores, is possibly the most surprising enterprise in the Caribbean. Who would expect to find Darth Vader, Pinhead from HELLRAISER and Riddley Scott's ALIEN in St Maarten? But this unprecedented showcase has that and a whole lot more. There are displays that span six decades of movie making, relics from THE TERMINATOR, MEN IN BLACK and even THE MALTISE FALCAN. There's also an incredible collection of lifecasts, the actual faces of Hollywood stars, From Bogart & Brando, though Sean Connery & Jack Nicholson to Michael Jackson, Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolle. The collection is extended to include famous historical figures too… the actual faces of Abraham Lincoln, (cast 3 months before his assassination), Benjamin Franklin and George Washington, (cast in. 1778 and 1783 respectively by french sculptor Jean Antoine Houden), and death masks of both Oliver Cromwell, (1658) and Vladimir Lenin (1924). The Exhibit is the brainchild of Hollywood creature effects wizard Nick Maley, known as "that Yoda Guy" for his contribution to the creation of Yoda for the STAR WARS sagas. If you don't know who Nick is, just google his name. He made over 50 movies, including SUPERMAN, HIGHLANDER, KRULL & LIFEFORCE, worked with Hollywood legends like Sean Connery, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Harrison Ford, (you will see them all in the exhibit), was featured in CINEMAX and HBO specials, won a place in THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS and was nominated for an EMMY. Nick shares his professional perspective on the making of famous movies via DVD and, if you are lucky enough to find him there, he will dedicate purchases from the Yoda Guy Shop and do photos with customers. The Shop sells signed movie memorabilia, posters, antique STAR WARS comics, behind the scene photos and storyboards… unique autographed slices of STAR WARS history that become a legacy to pass on through the family. There's also Nick's celebrated Caribbean artwork, (exhibited in galleries in 18 countries and toured the world with UNESCO. Nick and his wife Gloria have created the Yoda Guy Movie Museum Foundation, a not for profit group to oversee the Exhibit's development. Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to support the museum and visit a STAR WARS celebrity. It is recommended on all major cruise lines as a MUST SEE for art and movie fans.

A cutsie display of the owners star wars trivia collection. No money wasted, but I cannot believe this is highly rated on this website.

I guess I should apologize. This traveller came looking for something flashy and all we have are relics that span six decades of movie making. Just items used during the making of STAR WARS, SUPERMAN, HIGHLANDER, ALIEN, TERMINATOR, MIB, KRULL, LIFEFORCE, Pinhead from HELLRAISER, and THE MALTISE FALCAN from 1941…. how boring. And the collection of lifecasts that people make... More

Visited the Yoda Guy and his exhibit. It was a fun little find in a town that is focused mostly on shopping. Nick is great just to chat with and has some great stuff for sale. Collector items with signatures. The museum is worth a look as well. Be sure to watch the videos and read the captions as they... More

There are so many things to see and do while in St. Maarten, but one you shouldn't miss is a visit to the Yoda Guy exhibit! It's only a short walk from the cruise terminal down the main shopping street of Phillipsburg. If you're into movies at all, and certainly if you're a fan of movie-creatures, you will love this... One of the highlights of my last vacation in the St. Maarten was visiting "Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit", Nick Maley, the makeup artist and prosthetic designer responsible for creating Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back. Upon entering his mini-museum, Mr. Maley personally approached us and made us feel like we were in his own home. On second thought, maybe we... More

Nick and his wife were absolutely wonderful. We were glad to have listened to him give pep talks to many of the teens who walked in the door as well as taking time to give us personal attention - even BEFORE we made a substantial purchase. The museum is worth the $20. It took the experience to another level. My... More

We have visited this place every year that we travel on a cruise to St. Maarten. Nick Malley is such a nice guy. For the Star Wars or sci-fi fan this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.

If you're a fan of mega hit 80's Sci-Fi movies (Star Wars trilogy, Superman, Terminator, Aliens) or cult favorites (Highlander, The Keep, Krull, Lifeforce) then this place will move you. Mr. Maley has LOADS of amazing artifacts and one of a kind collector's items/autographs for sale at much lower prices than if you went to a convention or trade show.

We visited the Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit as part of a cruise vacation to the eastern Caribbean. We have visited before back in 2010 and were impressed with the exhibit then. The exhibit has grown a bit since then, with some new items added. We were pleasantly surprised when we were told that a purchase we made of a drawing... More
