My wife and I did this activity from St Maartins. We were lucky enough to go on Stars & Stripes and as part of the crew we were trained to be " Main Grinders ". We raced the Canadian yacht True Blue and were lucky enough to win.The crew that taught us ere great, the actual racing was fantastic. After... More

We enjoyed getting to be on a real America's cup boat (we were on the Stars and Stripes, our son was on Canada II). They give you a real job, if you want one and you'd better pay attention. You get a little taste of what it might be like to be part of a sailing team and how awesome... More

This boat trip really delivers. It was the highlight of our cruise. You get a real feel for how these sailing vessels work. About 2/3 of the passengers are engaged as crew and really work at sailing the ship, witch a crew of 3 supervising. We had Captain Morgan on the Stars and Stripes, one of 3 boats that compete... This was one of our choices on a recent company rewards trip. I don't like to sail but love being on the water. My husband was a primary grinder and as I didn't want to work hard, was assigned the position of iceberg lookout....hey, with global warming, you never know! It was a great time, Captain Ernie was funny and... More

If you like to sail or think you'd like to at least try sailing, this is for you. The attraction is fun from the get go. We went from our Holland America cruise ship and it was clearly THE excursion of the cruise. Loads of fun, a .little water and to some degree adventure, as these guys who skipper the... More

The organization of a three boat race in Phillipsburg harbor couldn't have been smoother, assigning novices to 3 sailing vessels, and giving them clear instructions once in their boats. I learned alot about sailing these racing boats. (1) You must be ready to do your job with abandon and intensity when called upon, and (2) You must rest and drink... More

We booked this excursion through our Cruise Ship. It was the best excursion of the trip. We are a mid 50s couple with only a little sailing experience so for us this was a chance of a lifetime. We were met at the cruise ship dock and we had a short walk/boat ride to where we were to begin. The... More

Yes it's worth it if you've only sailed dinghys and want to experience a large boat and see the intrecaceis of how they actually do it. Ok for total novices too. Once was enough. More

We went on this sailboat about 10 years ago and it hasn't changed, other then the price. We paid $99 through the cruise line which I think is way too much for what you get which is an intro of the America's Cup race, followed by a tender ride to your boat, and then approximately a 2 hour race on... Great day on the water in a 12 meter boat. Lots of fun and hard work. You get a real appreciation for sailing and how hard racing is. A little nervous at first seeing all the people who signed up and the number who had never sailed before. All that went away as soon as we got on the boat.... More
