Our ship "Explorer of the Seas" arrived July 21 at 1pm and we had till 7pm to check out the place. We chose to just take a walk down Front, Back and Boardwalk, check out the shops and have a beer. You will definitely need a drink after the walk as it is quite hot and humid. Coronas were $3.... More

I had been told by friends not to miss out on Front St, but I was very underwhelmed. There was a lot of very tacky shops, mediocre shopping and crowded streets. I suggest skipping this one and staying on the boardwalk for drinks. If you insist on tourist-y shopping, I'd recommend the markets in Marigot instead.

We came here for shopping and had a decent time. There is a lot of the same stores and a lot of jewelry stores. There are some stores worth going into, like the guavaberry emporium. Wasn't too crowded as there was no cruise ships in port and and overall ok experience. Nothing too special here.

unless you want clothing, booze, electronics or jewels, this was essentially just a hot narrow street filled with all the same junk you can buy in any mall at home. Only checked some iPod prices and thought prices were nothing to get excited about. Some guys at our hotel form New Brunswick did say they bought a GoPro camera and... More

If you love jewels like me, this is the place to be. Just don't buy from the first store because there are so many to choose from.

This place really is a shoppers heaven. The jewelry, oh my, and the prices. You can't go wrong here at all. Almost everything you could want and all duty free! If you are staying on the island they give you way better deals. :)

But really, how many jewelry stores does a shopper need? If possible, go on days without cruise passengers around for the best deals. The Guavaberry store has some great sampling.

I was really disappointed that all there was was jewelry merchants, mostly Indian hanging in their door ways like little mafias ..wishing at the passerbys,, hoping you would come in their over priced jewelry stores..it was pathetic....no real st marten business owers...I was diaapointed,,,really weird place....they should advertise it as a jewely gauntlet mall, put they don't.....what a joke., sorry... Cool, narrow cobblestone street that does remind you that you're on an island. Lot's of Jewelry stores, shops and bars. Felt safe, however I was told that after 5 pm the place is vacant and can be dangerous at that time of day
