Lots and lots of shops from jewelry to linens, etc. Plenty of stuff to look at and buy. Be prepared to be hackled. The shop workers stand outside and try to lore you into every single shop. Gets annoying but worth checking out. Also, from what I understand, There are really good deals to be had.

Front Street is great for the shopaholics. There are so many shops that you can find the perfect gift for everyone including yourself. What I dislike is the tendency to be harassed either by excursion salesmen or cab drivers trying to take you somewhere. Sometimes they don't take no for an answer and it almost feels like harassment while you... More

Great area for higher and lower end shopping. Many stores and local vendors along Front Street. It's a great area to walk, browse and enjoy leisure shopping.

Lots of jewelery stores. I have two favorites--Oceans II and the Royal Caribbean Staff is very helpful and willing to work with you on style and price. Lots of local flavor in all the shops.

If you are looking for diamonds, jewellery or duty free this is the place to shop. You will be hassled at every shop doorway by touts wanting you to enter their premises altho they will be put off by a polite 'no thank you' I can't speak for value as we were not in the market for diamonds but certainly... Basically there is 4 different areas/streets you need to see in Philipsburg. Shops in Cruise Pier, lovely Boardwalk right next to the sea, Backstreet and then this Front Street. Street full of shops, especially jewelry! Lots of tourists etc. wandering around. In this street you can easily find taxis too, that takes you for example to Maho Beach watching planes... More

Front street is a treasure of stores. I visited so many jewelry shops it was unreal, with one for each step you take. I love my jewelry and found Carribbean gems. Amit Jaisinghani is the best. Please if you go to buy jewelry ask for him. You will not find a more knowledgeable person. He reads you like a book.

Just a nice walk in general from one end to the other. Some lovely shops, a few interesting tourist sights and a restaurant or two. Small museum at the end near between Front Street and the Boardwalk. And you can walk back along Back Street a block away although there's not much there except clothing shops and general dealers. The... More

Lots and lots of jewelry stores! Know your prices and shop early so you're the "first sale of the day." It's good luck for the shopkeepers. Be ready to say "no".
