After years going to island we finally made it to watch the planes land. Fun to watch people get knocked down by jet blast of big ones taking off. Planes in pictures look closer to beach than in reality as they are taken from a few stories high with zoom lenses. Still close enough to amaze. Go on Saturday 11:30... More

This is the beach to go to to view planes coming in for a landing and taking off. It's a small beach. Be prepared to bring along some form of shade as it's very hot just waiting for planes.

beach is nice but gets really deep fast. Waves can be very large. Main reason to visit this beach is to watch the planes land. Go early if possible or in days with no cruise ships docked otherwise it is very busy.

This is a very busy beach but the energy and excitement is hard to match, I definitely recommend stopping here even if it is part of a tour. I wouldn't miss it

Look at the surf board on the beach at the Sunset Bar and you will know the times of the big boys flying in! Then you can almost touch them!!

This is definitely a tourist attraction. Most people have seen pictures of this place on the internet with the planes landing close to the people ducking on the beach. The beach is small, and was very crowded when we arrived. The ocean is clear blue, and despite the crowds most people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's a great photo... More

We didn't do an excursion on our cruise; we just took a cab to Maho Beach. The cab ride was about $20. If you decide to go do it early! We got there at 9am and was able to claim our spot. It does get busy fast. You can rent chairs and umbrellas from the bar on the left side... More

We specifically selected a tour which included Maho Beach because I wanted to see the jets come in over the beach. The beach is small, and was very crowded. The ocean was a beautiful clear blue, and despite the crowds most people were enjoying themselves. My son played in the sand, and we all watched and cheered as a loud... More

What an experience during our most recent visit to St. Maarten. Our tour took us to Maho Beach as a last stop on the way back to our cruise ship. Nice beach and crystal blue water is just the beginning for the planes landing literally right over the top of your head at the international airport on the Dutch side... More

Obviously, Maho Beach is best known for its location near the airport. For true airplane enthusiasts there is a small window during the day to get the best arrivals. A couple ways to check are on a surf board/chalk board on the deck of a restaurant adjacent to the beach. A second way is to look at flightaware.com and search... More
