Went to Maho beach to watch the planes land along with several hundred cruise ship passengers. Can say I did that. The beach is nothing special but I have to say it is fun to watch the plans land and take off. At a the Sunset Bar and had a front roll seat. Food is okay. Beware, this is a... More

What an amazing experience to watch planes land just feet above your head along this beautiful beach. If you are brave you can attempt to "ride the fence" when a large plane takes off. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Seemingly tied to the Royal Islander, it boasts a varied menu and is quite good and very reasonably priced. Service is generally good and the view of Maho beach, along with the sound of the waves and the views of landing planes makes for a fun mealtime experience.

So many people watching the planes, it is just plain crazy fun. Be sure to stop into Sunset Bar for a drink and views.

Water can be quite rough at times. If you like a calm beach would not recommend it. But a have to see if you are in St, Maarten because of the planes that fly so low. Absolutely amazing experience !

This is the beach at the end of the runway. Make sure and check the flight schedules ahead of time to make sure you can see a big jet, the little ones were fun but the big ones would make it worthwhile, we didn't think ahead to check so we saw 5 little ones but missed the big jets by... More

Very crowded, thin beach, but something you have to do if going to St. Martin. International flight times are posted on a surfboard at Sunset Bar and Grill. Not a great beach for a relaxing time at beach, but cool to stop at for an hour or so to see flights coming and going.

This review might be a bit biased as aviation is a big hobby of mine. If the idea of planes coming in 20 right above you or getting some jet blast, by all means come here, it is an experience. If you have no interest in planes go to mullet bay or elsewhere. Maho beach is fairly average if it... More

Maho beach is small and can sometimes be a little rough...that being said, I would recommend spending the day swimming, eating lunch at Sunset Bar and Grill and watching the planes arrive and depart. It's a great sight! Especially the KLM flights. It's a really nice day, worth the trip.

Maho is definitely not the best beach on the island - it's fairly poor for swimming - but the sights are first rate. Sunset Bar posts a list of scheduled arrivals each day, so I recommend consulting that, and Princess Julianna's website for the big arrivals. The 747 landings are not to be missed!
