If you like the beach and you like planes, this is the place! Don't expect much from the Sunset Beach bar other than a cold beverage and some typical fried food or a burger. But you didnt come here for that! The beach is small as well and really crowded with people trying to watch planes. The best thing about... More

Either watching the planes land over your head or take off in front of you it is definitely something you will want to see if you are on St. Maarten. Your best shot so it seemed to see big jetliners was in the late afternoon.

Quite the experience! So glad we visited Maho Beach area while in port at St. Maarten. Be warned the beach area itself is extremely narrow. You basically have to find a spot between the narrowness and the rocks to pile your towel and stuff and then just get in the water. And, the water is great! Beautiful color, so clear,... More

Maho Beach is at one end of St Maarten's Princess Juliana Airport and sun bathers can lie on the sand and read the name of the manufacturer of the undercarriage of the planes that come into land at regular intervals during the day. The take-off and landings for the day are displayed at the bar next to the beach. The... More

This beach was actually the highlight of our trip to Saint Martin - St. Maarten! It was the most thrilling place as we were fortunate enough to see an Air France 777 land a few minutes after we arrived at the beach. The beach itself was crowded and it was an OK beach but what made this the highlight of... More

Rest assured, when the big jets take off you are bound to get sand pelted against your skin! It is a great beach to hang with friends and watch planes coming in for a landing. The turquoise water is also a nice way to see the views! If you want a different beach experience, check out Maho Beach.

This was a super fun beach! Maho was full of action. Lot's of people but, all the landing planes made this so much fun. I didn't think it would be hard to stand on the beach behind one of the medium planes taking off but, I was corrected quickly by a huge blast of hot air promptly knocking me off... More

The most gorgeous water , crystal clear, and turquoise. Just the right temperature. It is beautiful here and so very relaxing. Absolutely no seaweed in May/June.A very nice swimming and snorkeling spot.Rent chairs and umbrellas. We bargained the price in the afternoon. Boats pull in during the day on excursions and planes fly over.I want to go back.

Just the feel of the jets only a few feet above your head is awesome. Very touristy though. Expect a crowd of people. But totally a must do when there. Where else can you have a plane fly that close over your head and be blown away by the jet stream as it takes off. Crazy!
