We come to the island many times and this year many beaches were no sand or very rough so we ended up here three times. The water was calm and sandy beach. Easy access from parking. Just watch pot holes on way into beach road. The chair and umbrella rental was $15us for the day. The fellows here are very... More

Few bumps on the road leading to this beach but nothing treacherous. There is a smaller area closer to where you park that you could bring in your own chairs, food and beverages but if you move further down, the restaurant charged $6 for two chairs and umbrella as long as we ate there. Bring cash if you plan on... More

This beach is on the north - French side. Low waves and good for smaller kids. A couple of places to eat but no water activities. Very relaxing.

We stayed for one week in St. Martin and visited many of its beaches. We felt that Friar’s Bay was our least favorite. The beach was crowded and the entry into the water was very rocky. The chair rental from Friar’s Bay Beach Café were the most expensive of any beach we visited. Skip Friar’s and hike directly to Happy... More

Friar's Bay is off the beaten path, but is a very busy beach, popular with large families and groups. Much of the beach is taken up by the restaurant's beach chairs, but there are some open spaces to make your own. The water is ok, but with the crowds of kids and families, it felt quite crowded. There are 2... More

The best part of this beach is the Friar's Bay Beach bar, the service is great and fun loving, the food is fresh and clever and the experience pleasurable.

Great find!!! Quiet beach with a couple good restaurants, one seemingly a bit Jamaican. We enjoyed our day and ended up stopping back a day later.l

We went to many beaches and this was the best. Nice quiet beach, good food (if a little pricey). Warm clean water and surprisingly easy parking. I also love that the bay shape encouraged yachts to come in quite close. Bring your kids and don't tell too many people about this place or you will spoil it! (he says while... More

There's and steep drop off so make sure kids are good swimmers. To get there the roads are rough, can take the turn that's marked or continue in and make a left by the laundry before the post office in Grand Case. Two places to get chairs. The Friar's Bay Beach Club is expensive food and is more geared for... More

Before I begin my review, I will say that there is definitely a strong odor on this beach. We made sure to sit on the far left (you can also sit on the far right) to avoid most of the smell. The odor comes from a stagnant pond that is located behind the hotels/bars. The smell aside, this beach is... More
