We've been to St. Maarten and both times went to Orient Beach. A large beach and overly growded. This time we wanted to try a different beach which wasn't so grand. So we tired Friar's Bay Beach. We were not disappointed. This beach was awesome. The beach had fine grain sand, the water warm and plenty of lounge chairs. A... More

Beers were pricey, so we learned our lesson and started bringing our own. This beach is small and a bit rocky but very quiet and relaxing. Saw cows on our way in as it's pretty far off the main road and through a residential area.

This was our fourth trip to the island but first time at Friar's Bay. It is a beautiful spot with a lovely view of Anguilla. We ate at the first restaurant and had the grilled chicken leg which was quite tasty. We loved the beach except you have to walk on rocks to get into the water. They are smooth... More

Definitely worth renting a car and getting used to driving on St Martin to make it over to Friar's Bay. The GPS will help get there if you can get one. We had a great time at this pretty beach and had a nice lunch at the place on the far right end. The snorkeling around the right side by... More

A little hard to find but we think it is worth it. Two Bar/Grills on the beach our favorite is the north east end of the beach. Boats will come into the Bay and anchor for lunch at the Grills. Two exits from the main road can get you to one end or the other end of the beach. The... More

I visited 9 beaches in 5 days, and this was my favorite by far!! Gorgeous, calm waters, and nice but smaller beach. It was nice to have chairs and umbrellas to rent, and the small bar was fun and the bartender was nice. Much less expensive than other places as well. Only one bar open, even though there are usually... More

Beautiful setting. The sand in the ocean of this bay is the softest I have ever felt. Very relaxing with a couple restaurants right there too that supply chairs/lounges with a meal purchase. However, Friar's Bay is not too far from a salt pond and the dump, so there were a few rogue odors here and there. Still worth it.

Went snorkeling for like 20 minutes wen we got back to the car all of our belongings were gone. On the car rental company they told us to put our stuff on the trunk and so we did! What a bummer! Best beaches are on the dutch side. Try maho, little bay and Simpson bay, the water is clearer and... More

Love this beach. What a great spot. It's a bit of a drive from Dawn Beach where we stayed on the Dutch side, about half an hour but worth it. This beach has a cafe where you can have lunch, it has a bar and for a reasonable price they give you two lounge chairs, an umbrella and a bucket... More
