Rated as one of the French sides better beaches. On the day we went it seemed the beach was shut no bars open,no beds available .We drove from Cole bay and the roads leading down to the bay are really pitted so drive carefully

This little beach was a great surprise. A very calm sea, without any wave, the best place for kids and snorkeling. A very calm place to relax and enjoy the beach. There was no place to have food (low season) but we took our own snacks and beverages and was great.

This was a pleasant surprise...the water was like glass, beach sand was soft and warm, water was crystal and warm, and the beach bar (1st one) was great...even with the donkey walking around :) Mixed crowd from families with little ones to topless "babes"...which no one seemed to pay much attention to. Sunset here was the best we saw during... More

This was a gorgeous beach off the beaten path. I came in with a cruise ship but prefer to escape the crowds...so we came here! It was about a 25-30 minute taxi ride, and our driver stayed for the day until we were ready to leave. Great place for kids - very calm waters. We pulled in and there was... More

This is a great place for adults or children. The water is clear, the beach is clean, nice and shallow pretty far out so you don't have to worry too much about the kiddies. If you're lucky you'll get to see a donkey and a herd of cattle passing by on the "road" behind the beach. Snorkeling on either side... More

Clear waters, easy access and one of the best restaurant at the beach! The Friars Beach Bay Club is an excellent shack to have lunch and they also rent the chaise lounges at the beach providing their services to your side table. We even saw a World Cup game there and have a lot of fun with the employees. Chris... More

We had to maneuver past two cows walking down the street to get there and the road to the beach is a challenge, especially the last 100 yards, but the beach was not crowded, but clean and very calm. Good beach for families with smaller children. There are two lolos with food, chairs and umbrellas. We didn't make the trek... More

We have been going to Friar's every year since 1987. We always smelled the sulfur smell but just assumed it was from the pond.SInce they built the condos we find that the or has gotten much worse. The final straw was this may after very heavy rains, when we headed back FrIars we rented our chairs from fbbc as usual... More

We had got off the cruise ship in Phillipsburg and rented a car knowing we wanted to go to Maho Beach, Margiot and Orient Beach. However, instead of going all around the island we saw the Friar's bay had snorkeling and wouldn't be as busy as Orient. Perfect find. A little off the beaten path and you have to keep... More
