Clear waters, easy access and one of the best restaurant at the beach! The Friars Beach Bay Club is an excellent shack to have lunch and they also rent the chaise lounges at the beach providing their services to your side table. We even saw a World Cup game there and have a lot of fun with the employees. Chris... More

We had to maneuver past two cows walking down the street to get there and the road to the beach is a challenge, especially the last 100 yards, but the beach was not crowded, but clean and very calm. Good beach for families with smaller children. There are two lolos with food, chairs and umbrellas. We didn't make the trek... More

We have been going to Friar's every year since 1987. We always smelled the sulfur smell but just assumed it was from the pond.SInce they built the condos we find that the or has gotten much worse. The final straw was this may after very heavy rains, when we headed back FrIars we rented our chairs from fbbc as usual... More

We had got off the cruise ship in Phillipsburg and rented a car knowing we wanted to go to Maho Beach, Margiot and Orient Beach. However, instead of going all around the island we saw the Friar's bay had snorkeling and wouldn't be as busy as Orient. Perfect find. A little off the beaten path and you have to keep... More

I had wanted to try out Friar's Bay as I had heard a lot about the restaurants and the club. Also the bay is sheltered with shade so it is easy swimming. When I arrived I noticed that there was a strong smell of manure that permeated the beach. I had read other reviews about this odour and want to... More

Our driver, Michael Jones, 1-721-587-9367/michaeljservice@gmail.com, thought we would like this Bay and he was right. It is beautiful, not commercial, and layed-back. We stayed next to the first restaurant by the parking lot and were relaxing after a wonderful swim, when we noticed a large machine heading down the beach. There had been a lot of rain, which backed up... More

A little off the beaten track, but well worth the drive. Pay attention to the signs, or you may miss the turn off the "main" road. There are 2 local eateries, both of which make you welcome and you can rent two sunbeds and an umbrella for $15 per day.

Friar's Bay was a beautiful little bay on the leeward side of the island with calm waters and soft sand on the French side of the island. I had heard that it was great for families as it is posted as "Nudity Prohibited" - so we felt safe taking our 13 and 10 year old boys there. Several older adult... More

We have visited all the beaches on the island and this one is great for families. Not a rough undertow whi h makes it easy to swim. Only down fall is that the Friars Bay Beach Bar is very expensive. I paid $11.00us for 2 cans of coke. Bring your own drinks and snacks/lunch.

This was our first beach in St Martin. They have 2 bars on the beach and both offer chairs and umbrellas. The beach is beautiful with clear waters, great for relaxing. The beach was not crowded that day, so we didn't have any issues finding a nice and quiet spot to relax.
