Great beach for kids! Two places to chose to eat and get ice cold drinks. Have cash because it gets expensive fast. The beach is wonderful for snorkeling even for kids! Never too crowded and water is calm.

Tucked away from the main road is a little beach called Baie Rouge, and it is breathtaking. The sand is soft and deep, the water is beautiful, and it is so quiet that you hear nothing but the sound of the surf. The view is also gorgeous, and you can see Anguilla to the north from your lounge chair. There... More

There are a couple restaurants if you want to eat or drink anything. The best area is on the right near to the rocks. It is a like a pool, no waves. If you can swim just swim around the rocks and you will see a private small beach, and yes, you can go there. Nice area to do snorkeling.... More

There is a great snorkelling area with a swim-through cave but it is quite a ways away (I'm guessing 500 yards?). And then you need to be comfortable enough to swim with some semi strong currents without being thrown against the rocks when near the cave itself. If you are ok with that, it's worth the trip as you won't... More

This is our second time in Saint Martin, and Baie Rouge is our favorite beach we have encountered so far! Not very busy, beautiful views, and rocks that you can jump off of! Water is crystal clear, and if you swim out around the rock there is a even more secluded beach! A little hard to find, as it is... More

The surf is usually rough here and the food is OK but not my favorite. They seem like they want to herd you to one of the two bars depending on where you park which is limited. Thou in our group 2 couples just love this beach it isn't my favorite.

It is so peaceful and beautiful. We love eating at Gus' and drinking frozen drinks at happy hour. Super snorkeling.

Pretty beach- however the facilities and food are not up to par with other beaches on the island (Orient Bay, Anse Marcel). Also, not a great beach for walking because it is very rocky. However the snorkeling is awesome and there is a cave!

We hit different beaches on different parts of the island everyday during our trip to St. Maarten; Mullet Bay, Orient Bay, Dawn Beach, but my favorite was Baie Rouge. Nestled between gated communities was this gem, mostly French locals, pristine, and off the beaten tourist path the day we went. The parking at Mullet Bay was overflowing as we passed,... More

Upon parking I was a little nervous as there was an argument/scuffle brewing among two locals who worked at the beach bar & grill. A young man immediately told us where to park and then offered beach chairs/umbrellas to rent ($15 for the two of us). We opted out & just sat our towels & bag on the sand. We... More
