It is out of the way and you must be attentive to the turn off. The parking area is a mess of potholes and rocks and may make you uneasy, Once, however, you enter the beach, you will realize it is well worth it. They will offer chairs for rent and we highly recommend eating at Chez Raymond (the best... More

The entrance to this beach can be a bit tricky so pay attention to the signs on the road. The parking lot is the worst part as there are ruts and potholes everywhere. Once you have bounced your way in, there is a short set of stairs leading the the beach and beach bar area. There are a lot of... More

Gus and his crew work hard to show you a great time...water can be rough...stay close to the edge...beautiful to just sit and stare out at God's beauty

This beach was a great way to spend St. Martin day on November 11th. It was so relaxing and laid back...a lot of families were present. The French side of St. Maarten has such character and the guy renting the beach chairs was so friendly. Then again, he's a fellow Trinidadian ;)

This beach is just gorgeous. It is such a pity there are no proper places to eat. We went to the shack next to Gus Beach Bar. It was overpriced and the food was mediocre for what you get on a plastic plate. De drinks where served in the smallest cups around. Service was slow and they had no clue... More

My wife and I were married on this beach at sunset. The background was almost as beautiful as the bride. The beach was a wide, clean, quiet crescent framed with rocks to the north and a large hill to the south. The beachgoers present stayed out of the way out of respect but offered their congratulations at the end of... More

We tried to visit Bay Rouge on St. Maarten. Terribly hard to find. Don't go. Damaged by hurricane, 7 inch rain and no apparent repairs going on at this time. The water is polluted according to security. Visited Nov. 11, 2014

We've been to St. Maarten 4 times and visited all the beaches - this is our favorite. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. I like the snorkeling here - it's different - not many tropical fish but cool rock formations. You will need a car to get there.

enjoyed the sun and sand, but the water was very rough, possibly due to the hurricane 7 days prior. steep ledge in/out of water, so those who are unsteady/elderly, do not go until the rough seas pass.

This was a good find late in my trip, but the beach was beautiful. The water is very difficult if you are not a good swimmer, with a strong undertow and heavy waves, but if can handle it, the water is gorgeous and refreshing. The hurricane made the local bar/restaurant out of order, but it was still a gorgeous beach... More
