We hit the market on Saturday monring at 8am. We met up with another traveler and shared a fresh fish. Bought some fish spice at another stand, a lime and back to the hotel. That fish was AMAZING! You can find some of everything if you go early enough

Unfortunately, Marigot has dwindled from an upscale lovely town to a to a mixture of many closed shops along with a handful or two of some decent stores and restaurants along with a small mall. It seems that most cruise ship visitors are funneled into the marketplace where there are stalls that seem to all be selling the same kitschy... More

We took a cab from the cruise pier with two other couples and had a great time in the market buying gifts, etc.. Nice restaurants with good service although we only had a couple of beers. The cab then took us to Maho to see the planes landing and then back to the ship. Fun day!!

There are numerous stalls set up so many types of souveniers are available. Some stalls sell the same thing for different prices so have a walk around.

We took a St. Maarten Island Tour as part of a Royal Caribbean International tour. We enjoyed seeing the countryside, towns and landmarks as well as the seascape from the bus. We stopped in Marigot, the capital of the French side of the island. Though the market was largely forgettable, our guide recommended Sarafina's, a French bakery that served coffee,... More

The shopping was good for tourist souvenirs. We had a nice look through and I found a cute island dress. It was flee or straw market style shopping. We had fun with it.

Soon after My husband and I arrived in Marigot, my camera was stolen. I had the cord wrapped around my hand and the camera in my hand when a young man came up from behind me and ripped it from my hand and then ran away. My hand is severely bruised. We were about a half block from the town... More

Do not go on the Marigot Shopping/Beach tour in St. Martin. The trip was awful as was the shopping market. There were only flea market shopping with mediocre to sub standard products and clothes available. There was a very small mall area there, but it too had poor shops. The beach tour was terrible as well. The tour was supposed... More

I have visited St Martin for 21 years and always visit the Marigot Market . There are the traditional China sourced souvenirs booths which shoud be avoided . We like tbe spice sellers ., the artist booths water color prints and originals .make sure you understand the difference. Hand painted tiles for maybe a bathroom , copies of an original... More

Just a couple of blocks behind the market is a little spice stand (next to a great bakery and around the corner from the post office) - the spice are excellent and the owners are friendly and informative. If you want to take home a taste of St. Martin stop by. They sell a great "jerk spice" in quantity and... More
