My sweetheart has a timeshare at the Royal Islander La Plage in Maho. This was my first time to the island so we toured the island the first day we were there. She directed me to Marigot and got to see the market. Plenty of stands to walk through. The vendors were not pushy. The view of Marigot Harbor was... More

We visitied St marten on our cruise and decided to visit Marigot on the French Side. We'd done a bit of research before we went so know we could get a bus from just behind the courthouse and it couldn't have been easier to find. We took the water taxi across to town (7 euros, unlimited trips) and walked straight... More

People in the market were short with us and rude but still wanted us to buy their things. A woman in the west indies mall made my elderly father get up from a table he was sitting at while my mother and I paid $1.00 each (absurd!!!) to use the restroom. There were plenty of other tables for patrons to... More

Each year we travel to the Marigot Market to buy from the local artists. Last year, we bought 2 beautiful water colors of Maho Beach with an AA plane landing. This year we bought a beautiful painting (artist name Augustine) along with a hand painted tile (artist name Micka). You can barter with the merchants. I would try to avoid... More

We visited the Marigot market on the waterfront on our recent trip to St. Martin. Not so impressed - lots of the typical t-shirts, sarongs, etc. Less fresh produce than I'd expected on a Saturday morning. Did buy a garnet pendant from a lovely lady selling local garnets at a reasonable price. But otherwise, not such an interesting market. Would... More

Marigot market and Marigot itself is such a welcome relief from the concrete insanity that Phillipsburg and the Dutch side has become. The town itself is full of beautiful French-colonial buildings of charm and character.

Keep in mind they close down around 2. This is in the downtown area of Marigot. I found the pricing better than in Philipsburg. Unique finds. They have garnets only mined on st marten, larimar, as well as all the typical t's, serongs, beach bags, etc. Great eateries right there also

We stopped in Marigot's Market Place for an hour of looking around the town as part of an island excursion from our cruise ship on a Tuesday morning in January. That was all the time we needed to see the wares in this market (open air market with clothing, shells, jewelry, pics, veggies on many tables) as well as those... More

We made our trip to the Wedneday market in Marigot as a combination - get a feel for Saint-Martin's principle french city, find some souvenirs in the market, gawk at a few fancy yachts, and get a simple snack or lunch. plus visit Sarafin bakery just up the street. We found it easily and discovered plenty of parking coming from... More

Been coming since 2004 and never considered visiting Marigot market on a beach vacation. But wanted to buy some gifts for many friends and was definitely satisfied. You have a little of everything from spices, touristy T-shirts to French vendors selling jewelry. So much variety. Shout out to Patricia selling beautiful products from Provence France. Great stuff. My favorite. Wednesday... More
