It's the capital of the French side of St. Maarten. We did a quick stop during our ATV tour just for photos and a quick walk around. There are various vendors selling souvenirs there, few unique things (Rastafarian hat, straw bags), make sure you haggle! There's also a high end mall for shopping. Nice view of the harbor, good photo... More

OK, it's fun, but completely tourist. i' by FAR recommend going to the far more european (and not VERY expensive) shops a few blocks off the water, for European style, details and class!

Great place to pick up those little island treasures to bring home at a great deal. View the harbour, climb to the top of Fort Louis nearby. After working up an appetite enjoy lunch at Rosemary's or a pastry at Sarafina's

So much fun to walk throughout the various tents and merchants on a beautiful morning in Marigot. There are a lot of excellent vendors there, many are artisans with wonderful goods to buy. You can weave for a couple of hours, spend your dollars or euros, taste a wide variety of local-made rhum, and then saunter off to many of... More

We hit them all and this was the best. We even went twice. Wednesday is fish market day, too and if you go when a cruise ship is in port then there are many more vendors. They had the usual t-shirts, mugs and such but they also had a good spice and pepper supply which we could not find any... More

A visit to the market was nice way to spend a Wednesday morning in St Martin. Most of the stands offer the same stuff so make sure to take your time to find the stands that offer unique items for purchase. After the market we walked the streets of Marigot visiting shops, the marina, and a nice pastry shop. Not... More

Cute market; we were not there on a very busy day but there were some stalls set up; got some unique souvenirs : a handpainted mini water color sold by the artist, and some spices from the Spice Lady which we are very much enjoying now that we are home.

We’d walked through Marigot the day before and didn’t have much to report. We were a day off. The only days to go to Marigot in the off-season (late June for us) are Wednesday and Saturday. On Saturday we scored lots of great souvenirs: $5 magnets and hats and hot sauces, $8 ornaments and earrings, $18 shirts and necklaces –... More

On Wednesdays and Saturdays morning the market in Marigot, the city centre of the French Saint Martin island, is operating. It´s a place not to be missed! It´s full of souvenirs of all qualities, types, shapes and colours. So it´s a feast for the eyes. Besides the souvenirs, they have the fish market with wonderful coloured local fishes. There are...
