As one of the tours off our cruise ship - Celebrity Equinox - this past May, we took a sightseeing tour of Philipsburg and around the island shared by the Dutch and French, enjoyed a beach experience and shopping in the Marigot Market on St. Maarten. We enjoyed shopping and had a lot of fun in the Marigot Market with... More

Although we have been to St Martin a few times, never hit the market before. What a find, anything you need is there at a great price ! We got lots of spices to take home, we will see if the "Magic Spice" is magic and the fish spice makes it taste like there! I found so many cute things.... More

We enjoyed visiting Sarafinas at the market. The many open air shops were fun to shop at and we found some good deals to take home to family. People at the shops are willing to deal a little... not too much though. Great place all in all.

in the sea of cheap tees, hats, and trinkets are a few gems. There is a linen clothing stall there that is worth the stop as well as the St Martin Garnet jewelry, and the Tagua Nut stall. Another favorite is the larimar jewelry so it may be worth your while to look for the few quality stops in amongst... More

Marigot is overrated and not worth visiting. The market is a cluster of local stalls with the assorted jewelry, sundresses and "artwork" that you can pretty much find on any of the islands in this area. The sellers are rude and aggressive and if you ask too many questions about an object they get annoyed. I went just to say... More

As much as I hate dealing with the traffic to drive here, we always take our guests traveling with us to do some quick shopping. It always seems to be the hottest place on the island, so dress cool! You can find the traditional purses/beach totes cheaper here than in the stores in town. Just be sure you don't pay... More

This a lovely market with a variety of things available. Fruits, veggies, clothes and souvenirs for the family.

We left by bus from the cruise ship and toured the two parts of the Island. The bus driver was very informative. Both sides of the island provides interesting stories but the area of Marigot was my favourite. Street cafes small stores and of course the market. Go as early as possible because it was very hot even in March.

We were on the Under Two Flags tour and enjoyed a stop by this market. We were able to shop around and look without people constantly trying to get us to buy this or buy that. The market sits on the beautiful Marigot Bay.
