I've travelled the world, taken boats all over - in calm and rough seas, never had a problem with sea sickness... until this ferry! I threw up from the start to the finish, going to St. Barths. The staff check on you, handing out bags, ice and rub mint oil on you... just to be clear I wasn't the only... More

Take your dramamine! it's 40 minutes there and very choppy in the morning. The 5:45pm return was much calmer. Complimentary soft drinks, nice staff, saw a "business class lounge" area, but were never offered that option or upgrade, so can't tell you how much it was.

Make sure to take motion sickness pills. This is a bumpy ride but tranquil being on the ocean. The crew were very nice and accomodating and helpled those who became ill. St. Barths is an over rated island in my opinion and very expensive but I am glad I went and got it "out of my system".

The first problem with the ferry is they have you arrive 1hr before departure which is totally unnecessary. The ferry is somewhat ancient, but was immaculate and seemed to be in good working order. The crew was extremely helpful, however if you have even the remotest chance of getting sick this WILL do it. I have no issue with rough... More

I read a lot of bad reviews of this ferry before my trip, and I was honestly pretty afraid of taking it. Because of the reviews on here, I bought motion sickness pills and asked the opinion of the people selling the tickets which day (weather-wise) would be best to go. They told us the next day should not be... More

I have ready many negative reviews of the fast ferry due to their recklessness. I would like to say that the crew defiantly looked out for their passengers. We took the 9am boat out to St. Barts, due to a tropical storm coming in the water was insanely choppy. This boat just plowed through the water, pouring waves over the... More

If your goal is to save time and try to take advantage of your day trip to St Barths, get it. If you feel more relaxed and have some more time, skip it and take another method of transportation. Once you're in Gustavia you can enjoy your gained travel time. If ocean is OK naturally it goes better.

We took this one to St. Barth's and back from Phillipsburg. Like previous reviewers have said, your experience pretty much depends on the day. The sea was moderately rough when we went. From someone who frequently gets motion sickness in a car ( even when I am the driver!!) I took some ginger tablets beforehand, sat outside at a table... More

We have been numerous time to lovely St Barts via many methods, and this time we travelled recently from St Maartin using the "Great Bay" Ferry service . It was like a roller-coaster for 45 minutes, 6 people were sick, and 1 person fainted. With the person that fainted, some people tried to get up and help, and they went... More
