A lovely beach, popular with locals, especially at weekends but never busy. There is a cemetery and small airfield running alongside part of the beach but this just adds to the charm in my opinion. Some shade can be found under old trees beside the cemetery. The water looked clean and entry to the sea was easy without stones or... More

so there are locals walking about; there may be lots of children on the beach weekends when they are out of school, but security keeps them at bay and won't let them bother the resort customers. can walk for quite a ways south, not so much north.

Lovely beach for swimming and walking but beware. While we were walking...in broad daylight, between noon and 1:00....our car was broken into and many valuables stolen.

So what do you do when it rains in St Lucia, go for a walk on the beach. Lovely long sandy beach. No beach bars or restaurant but used by the locals where we often saw people running or swimming or just enjoying a family day out.

Highlight for me was watching the locals ride horses in the sea on sunday and seeing all the local kids backflipping into the sea. lovely warm water.

The spanish reviewer posted the wrong photo for this beach which is actually called Vigie Beach. The photo is of a sewer line outflow into the Castries Harbour near the vendors market in the town of Castries which is nowhere near Vigie Beach. I have posted my own photos of Vigie Beach taken just last month.

small beach next to hotel , not private but quiet all the same, cleaned daily by hotel staff, only drawback maybe was the locals riding their horses at speed on occasion although it wasnt a problem for us.

This is a sandy beach and not crowded which we liked. there are a few locals selling beads, necklaces and items made from reeds but they didn't bother us. A polite no thank you is ok.
