It's a large cathedral with special architectural features. Wood stained ceilings with artwork etched on its surface. Stained glass windows. Huge tall ceilings and a real sense of peace - no matter what your religion is you should visit this cathedral. Most St Lucians are catholic so the church in each town is usually the biggest building in town. Tips?... More

If you like old Churches, this one will not disappoint. The caretaker on site was very knowledgable with the history of the Church and also St. Lucia.

If you are looking for the Duomo in Florence or even Winchester Cathedral you won't find it here.Nevertheless it is worth a visit from the point of view of having said one has seen it. Don't expect to be bowled over.

We stopped at this church while on a Maximum Chill Tour, it was an interesting stop on our journey. Be wary of a man who claims to be the pastor of the church, he doesn't actually work there. If you donate make sure you give it to the church itself!

I wouldn't make a special trip to see this place but since we were at the square anyway we took a look inside.

St. Lucia’s nature beauty is the major attraction of the island; however, Cathedral of Castries is the center of the Castries. The large wooden church is uniquely Caribbean style. Multiple paintings are on the walls and the ceiling. The historical building needs restoration. Walking a block around the church, you can appreciate the exterior of the Cathedral and many other... Worth the walk to see this beautiful old church with painted wooden ceilings and a bit of history. As is often the case, the locals have "dressed it up" with decorations that distract from the architecture but it was worth the hike from the pier to see and photograph. Walcott square was right next door with it's 400 y/o tree,... More

a beautiful church....has definitely had some damage from storms and hurricanes which is a shame. You can see that they don't have the funds for restoration but lovely to walk through and we have been to many churches around the world. If you are looking for a comparison to Europe, don't. Recognize the fact you are in the tropics.

We liked being in the middle of the capital city. But the driving was pretty challenging. We asked if we could park someplace and the guy sitting at the taxi stand said yes (even though we found out later it was for taxis). The Cathedral is one-of-a-kind. it is in disrepair in some places. I was glad we took a... More
