For $5 USD we got into Pigeon Island. You can swim on the island as well, but the waves were too high so the beach was closed. That didn't stop us from taking awesome photos of the coast! We climbed up to the fort, saw Martinique in the distance, and braved our way up Signal Hill, which, wearing a white... more
A short walk across the beach from Sandals Grande. Cost is $5 US a person. We spent two days hiking around the island. At the top of the peaks you can see St. Martinique and a beautiful view of Rodney Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Ruins of an old fort on top of one of the peaks. Stop at the... more
Pigeon Island is a fabulous day out - so much so we went there twice. It is maintained by the National Trust so there is a small entrance fee, but it is so worth it. The views are great.... more

The trust foundation is chartered to restore many of the decaying structures on an ongoing basis using park admission fees. The entrance fee to the park is $5 US/person and... more

There are many well preserved ruins of the old English base of Fort... more
We arrived in Castries on the Golden Princess in May of 2004. Knowing that the majority of ship's tours would be overrun with tourists, we had done some "pre-scouting" of the island. I am a bit of a history buff, especially Caribbean forts. I found some info on Pigeon Island on the internet and so we decided to run up... more
