Good for surfing

Quite a few surfers on this beach. Great supermarket nearby for cold drinks and picnics. You can find shade and a place to stretch out. Very enjoyable

This is a nice centrally located beach on the north side of St Barth's just east of St Jean. It is about a kilometer long, so plenty of distance to walk and it is wide in most places. There is a surf board rental at the public access across the street from the Mini-Market. Be advised: there are no public... More

nice long walkable beach. Great waves. Popular with the locals for surfing. Great bakery nearby. Not as crowded as some of the other beaches. Nice change of pace.

While this is not the best beach on the island, it is our favorite place for lodging and here's why: A very nice, picturesque, long sandy beach, beautiful ocean views, affordable villas and small hotels (compared to other beaches), very uncrowded, good snorkeling, and walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants. Why is it not more popular? The only reason... More

One of the less traveled beaches on the island, it is worth the visit. We returned to this beach time and time again not only for the view but also for the fine small restaurants in close proximity.

a charming village with a couple of food stores. The little fish store on the road has fresh and good fish.

We were in st. maarten for a week vacation and being so close to st. barths had to visit. we are parrot heads and heard about st. barths from a famous or infamous bar by lorient beach called Autour Du Rocher. We explored the island with little help, since they predominately speak french. the also didn't seem to want to... More

Very quiet little beach in Lorient and was close to my house in Marigot Bay. Only locals around. Lots of young surfers around for the weekend in a competition.

This is the most underrated beach on this island. Why? Because Les Salines and Gouverneur are more spectacular, and L'Anse des Flamands is backed by upscale hotels. But, unfortunately, scenic as these beaches are, they have deficiencies. The surf is so rough that unless you are a USCG rescue swimmer or a professional lifeguard, good luck trying to swim at... The town is old and funky and not too overbuilt. The Rothschild acreage at the western end is still intact which protects the town. Traffic can be tough.
