This was a lovely beach, pristine and unspoiled, with an interesting surf action that reminds me of Waimea Bay in the summer. The surf crashes really close to the shore and creates a steep beach and a lot of motion. The waves are not suitable for body surfing. Aesthetically, it reminds me a bit of a mini version of Saline,... More

Located at the bottom of a green hill this amazing sandy beach is a gem in an almost virgin wild spot. Some parking spaces are available but they are limited. It is a public beach with no amenities. Bring your own chair, towel, food etc. and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Good open beach, quite sheltered, but not much shade and forget the umbrella because the on shore breeze always seems to be able to blow them away. Big waves are great fun, probably not so good for youngsters. A few people like to go totally nude. A bit off putting

This beach has lost a little sand so it's not so steep as it once was. The waves can be fierce but on a good day it's a fun beach to have a dip in, bask in the sun and people watch. Families with noisy children tend to stay near the entrance to the beach, nudists tend to go to... More

Parking was tough and only got tougher as the day went on but the beach was completely worth it. In fact this was our favorite beach! Bring a lunch and an umbrella so you can stay the whole day. The further down you walk the more nudist it becomes but lots of family's on the first half

We settled on this beach as our favorite on St. Barths. Wonderful Sand, tremendous colour to the ocean and unspoiled surroundings make it a great place to go. If you like to walk the beach, you are better on Saline because Gouverneur has a slope which makes it less condusive to easy strolling.

My husband and son spent hours body surfing and playing in the waves while I read my book. Beautiful area, nothing commercial around, super great swimming (no sign of seaweed anywhere). One of the highlights of our trip.

Beautiful beach but no service. Bring umbrellas, food and sun block. Nice white sand and a lot of space. Nice waves but be careful undertow is present. Good snorkel. Encassed between two small mountains. Surrounding is wild: one side is green, the other side is dry and full of cactuses (probably due to prevalent winds and where sun hits) .... More

Gouverneur is easy to find though parking can get very tight on a busy day. The walk to the beach is short once there and the appearance is just terrific. The setting is completely unspoiled and the water and sand look amazing. The shape is like a small horseshoe. It is largely uncrowded but with a bit younger crowd than... More
