We took a walk from the Bucaneer's Creek Club Med village. It is a bit long but very nice, through a forest and you will see hundreds of different crabs on your way.
The beach itself is very nice with plenty of space and a lot of possibilities to eat.

June 2004. Just returned from 10 days in Martinique.
Les Salines is widely listed as the prettiest beach in Martinique. I do not agree. During high tide (mid-afternoon) the beach is narrow with vehicles parked just behind you all along its width. There is a lot of seaweed in the water and along the shore. The water is not crystal...

The beach is long and crescent shaped with fine, white sand and a backdrop if trees. I was there during off season so I saw it in its more pristine state without the usual barrage of vendors. Waves come in stronger than at other beaches on the west coast because it is on the exposed southern tip of the island.
