My trip to Martinique was brief. The most memorable site is the Balata garden which is situated in the northeast, on rout to Mt. Peele. It contains numerous exotic tropical plants and flowers. Even if you aren't horticulturally inclined, you owe it to yourself to take a stroll amongst the lush greenery in the Balata Gardens. The gardens were originally a part of a private estate. If you love to see plants identified this is the place to be. It's also an interesting drive up into the mountains from Fort de France. more
