Everyone will tell you, there is no better way to explore the wilder side of our island. Our guided two-hour ride takes you through the hills, open meadows, woods, river bottoms and beaches of the Esperanza area. We begin at a walk, but quickly move up to the paso (a smoother version of the trot), followed by some cantering (especially up hills!). We offer rides at 8:00 am and 4:00 pm; to avoid mid-day heat. The cost is $70 per person, cash only. Reservations are required and don't forget your camera! Please refer to our website for more information. « less

We were in Vieques for 10 days. We saw way more of the island on our two hour tour then we did the other nine days. our tour guide Katlyn knew her way around and had a way with the personable Paso Fino horses. Shout out to Murphy and Willy! More

Generally, I am not someone who is ever interested in riding, but I was going with a group, so I figured I would make the best of it. I have some experience with horses, but not a lot. These horses all would have been fine for even the most timid riders. The ride was lengthy, but beautiful and peaceful. The... More

This is a great and relaxing way to see the island, and both Elizabeth and Caitlin do a terrific job making everyone from kids, to novice adults to experienced riders comfortable and able to enjoy the ride. We have done rides in Jackson Hole and other places, and my kids thought this easily was the best. More

I rode Murphy, who was lovely! It was great to do the morning ride. Less blazing sun and more time to take in the great views. Well taken care of horses. Elizabeth knows the drill and is happy to accommodate beginners and advanced riders. She has two great yellow labs, too! More

What a nice time we had on gentle, intelligent and well trained horses. We went through amazing scenery. This is a good ride even for a beginner. More

My husband and I had a great 2 hour ride with Esperanza Riding Company. Booking the ride was very easy to do via email. Elizabeth is a great guide and her horses are amazingly easy going and well cared for. If you’re looking for something to do other than lay on the beach I highly recommend a trail ride. One... More

This is one of the best experiences and you should not delay to experience it when in Vieques.. The horses are well kept and treated humanely which is one of the things i always consider when doing any activity that involves animals .. You will get to see Esperanza on a more intimate elevated level ,and the horses are so... More
