Playa Caracas is a really pretty spot with good waves for body boarding. This beach had the most families of any of the 8 beaches we visited, so definitely family oriented if that's what you're seeking or avoiding.

Beautiful and not crowded. We went to MANY beaches on the island, and this was our favorite. Gorgeous, calm water.

Get there early, you and your group will have a nice spread all to yourself for a while. After one it gets a little more crowded, but not too bad

We took the ferry over and met some random people and shared a taxi. With a 11 people it was $5/pp and it was 20 min ride from the ferry. We also had the taxi stop in the way to get water and food since there are no bathrooms or facilities at the beach.Bring lots of water, bring towels and... More

Very nice beach but more crowded than others. Nice surf, beautiful sand, some seaweed. No snorkeling here. Large parking lot and cabanas available.

We only visited a few beaches during our Vieques visit but we liked this one the best. We visited in June (the off-season) and had no trouble getting there or getting parking. It's a lovely curved beach and there wasn't any seaweed washed up on shore like there was at Sun Bay and the others. The sand was soft and... More

Wow. You haven't seen a beach until you've been to Vieques, PR! Playa Caracas was absolutely stunning! It was calm atmosphere with a refreshing beach. The sand was white and the water was blue and green. The beach was clean and well maintained. We stayed out there by a palm tree the entire day. Also great people around!

This is the same location as "Red Beach" and Caracas Beach. Just FYI. It's the best beach on the island in my opinion. The best water and seaweed free sands. Just magical and super relaxing.

Caracas is maybe the best beach to hang around in Vieques since there is not algae as there is in some of the other beaches. As many other beaches in Vieques you start to see people after 1030 or 1100am. Plenty of parking space

Playa Caracas or Red Beach is a beautiful. Very open and really easy to find. Me and my Wife enjoy almost a whole day in the beach. Although our favorite beach is La Chiva/Blue Beach Playa Caracas is great too.
