I can't say much about Green Beach/Punta Arenas because we arrived just in time for sunset (bottle of wine in hand) and were chased immediately away by the throngs of no-see-ums. I later read that you should always go earlier in the day to avoid this issue. So, yeah, do that.

VERY private beach on the Northwest side of the island. No one else around except a small reef shark, two Conch's and many sea urchins. Quiet and peaceful place to relax and become one with the vast ocean expanses before you.

Took a long drive to get to and you must have 4WD. We were told that this was good snorkeling but we didn't see much. There isn't much of a beach as the waves come up pretty far. We didn't stay long. Afternoons have a lot of bugs as this is right next to the lagoon.

This is a great place to drive out to and watch the sunset on the tip of the island. Take a long time to get to and the road is crazy bumpy and flooded - def need a jeep or a truck, but once you are there it really is paradise. Bring bug spray!

Best snorkeling on the island and more tropical fish than you can count. Swimming out just a few hundred feet leads you to reefs with coves housing 50-60 colorful fish in one place. Incredible! You can even find schools of little fish in knee-deep water. We brought beach chairs to keep off the sand and had no problem with bugs.... More

We hit Green Beach early- the locals said to be done by 3 because of the bugs (no-see-ums) are out after that. The bugs were a little bothersome, but the snorkeling was good. We had kids with us, ages 8, 12 and 15 and felt very comfortable letting them snorkel by themselves. There was very little surf and sea grass/reef... More

It takes more effort to get to this beach but it is worth every giant pothole in the gravel road. When we arrived there were several giant yachts anchored offshore so we knew this had to be good. My family enjoys snorkeling and there is an outcropping of rocks where the fish are and there are also a lot of... More
