If you ask around most locals will tell you in terms of from the beach snorkeling in Vieques Green beach is probably your best bet. We visited most of the documented colored beaches and from our experience on V Green beach is indeed the best from the beach snorkeling you can find on the island - or at least that... More

Terrible getting there. Saw a sting ray - but the boats dock there and anchor RIGHT ON THE REEF! I didn't feel safe snorkeling around the anchors or the big boats. Was worried one was going to run us over. They have no regard for the reefs either.

The ride here was terrible, over rock, muddy, dirt roads that we traversed very slowly. Perhaps because we got there late in the day, the beaches were not impressive, & certainly not like Flamenco beach on the island of Culebra next door, or the beach of Culebrita. Snorkelers like it here but we did not snorkel. It is not a... More

However the beach is the best snorkeling beach on the Island. When you get to the warning signs for the electric cable, bear left and pull over in one of the next available pull offs. The island is not known for decent snorkeling, and this is the only beach we found with a reef, albeit small, with fair snorkeling. Just... More

The beach on the western end is small and one must traverse a awful rutted sand road which is not maintained. then there are the noseeums which eat you alive. the scene through the Mangrove swamps is worth seeing if you have no motion sickness and keep the windows up. On the whole do not go.

This was our best snorkeling experience while at Vieques. It was more sheltered from the wind than the other beaches that we visited. We saw turtles and lots of fish here. The beach is not as nice as some of the more popular ones, but the snorkeling and the views of Puerto Rico make up for that. We didn't have... More

Great snorkeling out from the first cabana to the left at the end of a very bumpy road. The reef is off the baach and there is a second one beyound that. We have swum with turtles, eagel rays and hugh colorful parrots. We love to picnic here.

So, something about being in Vieques and the lure of a secluded beach with reportedly good snorkeling lead us to drive to this beach. It was a nice beach, but IMO, not as nice as some that are more accessible and less driving on bumpy roads. The beach did not have much depth to it (narrow from waters edge to... More

Very long drive over typically awful roads to get here. Narrow beach. Biggest problem: Concrete all along the shore prevents you from running into the water. You have to find the one break in the concrete and enter there. Unfortunately there was a large family taking up that whole area, so it was awkward getting into the water.
