We heard great things about Green Beach on 5/4/15.... we drove all the way there and the road was closed and under construction..... we ended up going to the beach by the ceiba tree... only because the south beaches were covered with kelp while we were in Vieques

Amazing beach, been there twice! A small piece of paradise, worth a visit and staying there for a day, try to get a private spot and give yourself a time to appreciate the view around you... But leave before 5pm, because if no wind some Mosquitos will start to show they also owns the beach! 😁

There is some great snorkeling here. The bugs are pretty bad if you are relaxing on shore. The road leading to the beach was slow going because of potholes.

Very bumpy road to get there, numerous potholes requires very careful slow driving and then when you get there it did not seem to be an outstanding beach , not comparable to the nature reserve beaches on the eastern side of the island

So worth the jeep drive to get to it...we found that driving a little faster on the pothole roads...is much smoother. (like the WHOOPS in Motocross) The beach is awesome and the snorkeling to the right of the point was awesome, like swimming in an aquarium.

after noon you might want to stay in the water (a treat in itself) or lather yourself in a coating of insect repellent to avoid the 'no-see-ums' as they are called....you may not see them but you sure can feel their bite....but the beach itself is secluded and a treat to get to ....you will need a 4 wheel drive... If you ask around most locals will tell you in terms of from the beach snorkeling in Vieques Green beach is probably your best bet. We visited most of the documented colored beaches and from our experience on V Green beach is indeed the best from the beach snorkeling you can find on the island - or at least that... More

Terrible getting there. Saw a sting ray - but the boats dock there and anchor RIGHT ON THE REEF! I didn't feel safe snorkeling around the anchors or the big boats. Was worried one was going to run us over. They have no regard for the reefs either.

The ride here was terrible, over rock, muddy, dirt roads that we traversed very slowly. Perhaps because we got there late in the day, the beaches were not impressive, & certainly not like Flamenco beach on the island of Culebra next door, or the beach of Culebrita. Snorkelers like it here but we did not snorkel. It is not a... More

However the beach is the best snorkeling beach on the Island. When you get to the warning signs for the electric cable, bear left and pull over in one of the next available pull offs. The island is not known for decent snorkeling, and this is the only beach we found with a reef, albeit small, with fair snorkeling. Just... More
