Great drinks. Great food. Amazing location and view. Mix of locals and touristas. Hit up Friday night open mic. Always a great time at Al's

His local place is great. We met a few local people here including Captain John (Ahoy Vieques Charters - an amazing sailing experience). The food was good, the service was great and the atmosphere was very chill. If you go here get the fries - they're amazing.

We were in Vieques for 2 1/2 weeks we went to Mar Azul's on St. Patricks day during the day. Only 5-6 people there not busy we got 4 beers 2 were Medilla's other 2 were El Presidente. Bartender was cocky from the get go. Came time to get our bill and it was $20 for 4 beers! I almost... More

We were traveling through Isabel II and happened upon Al's and are so glad we did. The food was great, as was the view and the drinks are strong. The atmosphere is wonderful - beautiful sunsets and lots of happy locals having a good time.

Our first evening in Vieques was Friday, fish fry night at Al's Mar Azul, recommended by Hotel Bravo. The food & camaraderie were good to excellent. Fun! Many US ex-patriots. Beautiful, water location. We ate there Saturday & Sunday (super bowl party). My wife wanted to try other restaurants; I have a tendency to repeat. We enjoyed Bili restaurant in... More

We airbnb'd at an apartment in Isabel II, walking distance to Mar Azul's. After reading the great reviews we decided to check it out and are so happy we did. It's a really great bar. The location on the water is brilliant. The sunsets are gorgeous. Actually, any time of day here is gorgeous. Very eclectic, nautical, funky decor. The... More

We visited Al's on the recommendation of the owner of our guest house in Esperanza. When we got to Al's conveniently located close the Ferry Dock, it was fairly empty on that Sunday afternoon aside from a couple locals seated at the bar. Al took our order and brought our drinks fairly quickly, but we waited for him to ask... More

The server didn't even bring us water. We waited 50 minutes and when the food made it to the table it was cold and the nachos were stale. The cheese on the nachos was rock solid and cold. It was disgusting so we paid (full price) for this horrible food that we did not eat and left. The server was... More

Fell into Al's and glad we did. Great food - generous fish bites with a great paprikaed tartar sauce, gooey/yummy steakncheese sandwich, dark-fried, salt crusted homemade fries great for trying the 16 different coqui sauces, ranked from 1-15 in sweat factor. Kids loved the BLT and chicken wraps. Service was quick and crusty. Great view off of weathered back deck... More

Best place on the island to watch the sunset with local expats and other visitors. Don't overlook the food - the fish bites are fresh fish nuggets fried up in a tempura batter that is crispy and delicious. Their take on philly cheese is delicious, and served up on the best roll I've ever tasted. The staff is friendly, and... More
