Good beach but seaweed right now

Unfortunately the south beaches all have seaweed invasion right now, but fine once we got past that!

This beach it the "loners" beach, it perfect for exercising, running and swimming, this is where we shoot those scene of the wild horses and people. It is normally more patrolled therefore we had to keep our clothes on. Great for filming and only 7 minute drive from Villa gallega where we always stay.

We pulled right in, there wasn't anyone at the entrance. We drove by grazing horses and quickly found a quiet spot, under trees and with a trash can nearby. We got there at about 11am and the beach was practically deserted. We enjoyed a quiet afternoon, swimming in the warm water, snorkeling wasn't very good there but sunbathing and just... More

There is a $2 charge to access this beach (attendant was horribly rude) and there isn't as much sand as we would have hoped. Lots of kelp though the water is beautiful and the views are gorgeous..................................................................................................................................................................

This is where the horses hang out - we had fun just watching them enjoy the rain the day we were there. The beach is huge and has lots of shade, parking close to where you want to hang out - is a great swimming and lounging, walking beach. The concessions were closing up the day we were there so... We've been to Culebra, next Island, and really love it. Sun Bay is nice and large, but doesn't come close to the best beach in the world, Flameco, on Culebra. Save your money and go to Culebra.

We wandered over to Sun Bay from our guesthouse on Calle Flamboya in Esperanza. Simply gorgeous! We shared the beach with only a handful of campers who were hidden in the trees, wild horses, and a few other families. Perfect way to spend the afternoon.

Beautiful turquoise water, lots of parking, bathrooms, snack bar (that we didn't try), benches, and a nice wide beach.

A lot of Trade Wind exposure and wave action can be rough for small children; however, it does have safety line making the swimming area. There is also camping and good security at this beach.
