First of all, I would suggest looking around at the choices you have. We went with Eco Action Adventures, and there uncoordinated call backs and unorganized approach should have been an indicator. We could not get good directions because the two who pick up the phone speak very broken english. We did finally get there and there were a ton... more

Island Adventures with their Pontoon Boat enables you to fully experience the marvels of the Bio Bay even if there is a moonlit night like we had when we were there. They allow 5 people at a time to go under the boat and there it is completely dark so you get the full effects of the luminescent water -... more

Looking forward to the bio bay kayak trip, we booked with Blue Caribe Kayaks for the night tour. After waiting 30 minutes with 15 others with no explanation we were finally loaded into vans. Our van was full of bugs and felt like we were going to be gassed out due to improper exhaust. When we arrived at the bay... more

The biobay is rated the best bio luminescent bay in the world. The luminescence is from small bioflagellants making a chemical reaction and light in response to a preceived threat, such as movement by your kayak oar in the water. You see a milky light under the boats and in the oars, and if you are swimming or looking at... more

The jellyfish bites made it a terrible experience. The tour people don't warn you about them, but they must know since they are ready with vinegar and cortisone! more

A little background on the trip and then the explanation of what turned this into a nightmare. Just returned yesterday from PR 8-29-08. Our last night we did the bio-Kayak tour. It was a dark, overcast night but the only glow we could see was with movement in the water, hands, paddles other kayaks and occasional fish. I am an... more

This is a really great one of a kind experience. We visited on a group tour. Our tour included dinner at a great little restaurant, a rather frightening bus ride to the bay, then a boat ride into the bay where we were able to swim. Really amazing. more

I went to Vieques with my family including a 10 yr old & a 9 mos old. I, the Mom, really wanted to see the bio bay by kayak and was not sure HOW to pull it off without someone having to stay home & miss out. I phoned Abe, he could not have been more accomadating. He came up... more
