I'm sure this changes depending on conditions, but there was unfortunately a lot of seaweed floating around in the swimming areas at Navio beach. The waves were awesome, though, and we didn't let the seaweed stop us.

You need a 4WD vehicle to reach this beach. Please read that sentence again. You will not reach this beach in a normal car. Once there, it's worth it. Quiet, but the waves roughed us up a bit.

We had to visit as many beaches as we could, so we trekked down the bumpy, pot-holed road to Navio. Just a short visit since it was a less protected beach - larger waves. We prefer the calmer waters, but it was beautiful. Less crowded since it's harder to get to.

Amazing beach. Adventure to actually get to it. Drive sloooooowwww on the road to the beach---large holes, take a jeep, not a car. Careful when driving that you don't scratch up the jeep too much, just drive slowly. There is a small on one side of the beach that you can walk into. The surf here is quite active, but... More

The drive had a couple of scary moments but if you have the right car it is fine. We were there on a very rough day and the waves were huge and close to shore. We were wanting a relaxing time and this beach just wasn't for us. It was very beautiful and is great for pictures. Worth the short... More

I love this beach. I love the rocks on the side that are fun to scramble on. I love the caves you can swim into. I love the cliff we were diving off of. I love the crazed road that we had to bike up to get here. I love that there are only ever a few people. I love... More

do not let the road frighten you if you are a first time visitor...this is heaven! Strong surf and waves, blue water, cliff jumping, snorkeling, a little cave to visit on the left!

This is a very beautiful, secluded, wavy beach, but honestly, every beach on Vieques is lovely and i wouldn't risk the car damage again on that horrible road. Go at your own risk.

We arrived early in the morning and enjoyed having the beach to ourselves. The rocks that border both sides of the beach add to the beauty of the beach. We snorkels and saw a couple of sting rays and several varieties of fish. Great visit!

During the week, this beach is pretty much empty and it is one of the most gorgeous beaches on the island! Sometimes it's a bit more wavy than others, which is great for boogie-boarding, but it's always beautiful!
