Never have I experienced such fine grained white sand. Shallow and clear, the water was perfect for young kids. Bring an umbrella if you need shade as there isn't much there.

Media Luna is not a Miami Beach scene. It's quiet, very natural and a sort of local atmosphere. I really enjoy it.

Do not go to Puerto Rico without taking the Ferry over to Vieques and going to Media Luna Beach. Beautiful white sand in a circular bay area where you can walk out 500 feet into waste deep water and be surrounded by coral blue water and small fish. Make sure you rent a Jeep or a Scooter because it is... More

Part of the Sun Bay complex just keep driving to find little beach that is perfect if you are not comfortable with waves. An horseshoe shaped beach protected from the elements provides many shady spots for easy access to quiet often calm waters . Shallow but deep enough to let people try out their snorkel gear.

If you drive on the roads (there's several dirt roads that line the bay) passed Sun Bay (going east), you'll get to Media Luna. Our rental company alerted us to the possibility of the road being rough, but it wasn't bad. It was dry on the island though. Media Luna is similar to some of the beaches in the reserve,... More

It's not easy to access on the rutted and sandy roads, but it's worth it! Shallow waters that are warm after the sunsets, soft sand, and not many people!

Our first beach visited and one of the favorites - secluded, calm water, snorkeling and tanning - all the best

You can walk out 50 yards and still be in waist deep water. Fairly good snorkeling. Not too many people. Shade available.

Shallows for a ways out allow for sun-warm water for enjoying just playing, then swimming or snorkeling a bit farther out. The snorkeling is not particularly good however, but the water is quite clear (on calm days).
