Of all the beaches on Vieques, this one was the one we went back to again because it was so perfect for little kids. Very shallow, very empty (!) and the water was warm and calm. I highly recommend, plus there is shade via the palm and guayacan trees.

We went here for some great scenery. This is a nice area to look for shells, sea glass and misc. items that wash up on the beach. It is very stony and has many rocks to explore. A very secluded area, we were the only ones scouring the beach the day we went. It was windy that day and the... More

Previous reviewers have gotten the details right: beautiful beach, shallow water far out, nasty road leading there. I thought I would mention we didn't find it great for snorkeling. After the bay begins to get deeper, there's aquatic vegetation but the water is very murky and we didn't see any fish. Fairly good signage after driving east past the parking... More

It was a nice walk to Media Luna Beach from the Malecon/ Beach front in Esperanza. We packed a lunch/drinks and had a nice walk through Sun Bay, to Media Luna. Saw only about 6 people, calm waters. Very cool. And on the walk we saw a mongoose! Bring water, bring bug spray, bring a towel!

The dirt road is hideous, but you are rewarded by one of the most beautiful near-circular bays I've ever seen. The water is calm and extremely shallow. A great place to take small children. Uncrowded but not isolated.

Shallow for a long way out, lots of shade , soft white sand and peaceful. Perfect for young families. There are maby places to hang a hammock.

Very nice beach. Very scenic, swimmable ocean, lots of shelter from the sun, and popular with the locals. Not as secluded and quiet as some beaches (at least not at the time of our visit) but it is well worth the visit and not too difficult to get to IF you don't mind driving about 2 miles down a very... The water is shallow, you can walk and walk! Great for kids. Tons of seaweed by the shore made this not one of my favorites.

Nice beach. Very secluded. Quiet. But a very hard drive -- the "road" is potholed dirt. It takes 15 minutes to go the 2-3 kilometers.

Water was like a smooth gentle lake. Go out as far as you like, it doesn't get more than 4 feet deep. More than ample tree shade, no need for an umbrella. Need a Jedep to get there.
