This is not really a castle but a family home. Purchased by the city of Ponce from the owner it is well maintained with beautiful gardens....well worth a visit. The tour lasts approximately one hour and is well done. Be sure to spend time with your children on the special exhibit which is MATCHBOX cars. More

I have spent a fair amount of time in Ponce and had never been to the Castillo. The tour and movie beforehand were informative and enjoyable. The house and furnishings are beautiful and well-maintained. I would go again just to take in what I had missed on the first visit. More

It wasn't a castle - just a big fancy house on the hill that wasn't really to my taste. Ornate moldings and plaster lions etc. Underwhelmed. More

Must see. Also be sure to go to the Cross and ride the elevator to the top!. Spend the money and buy the tickets to see both the Castillo and the Vigio. More

Our tour guide was funny and informative and the tour was very efficient. It was reasonably priced as well. More

Unfortunately tourist info didn't explain this site was closed 3 days a week. The drive there and view, however, were lovely. More

This should be the first stop on any visit to Ponce. This is a historic mansion on a par with those of the Hudson Valley or Newport RI. It chronicles the history of the rum trade in PR. It is a delightful tour overlooking the city of Ponce and the Caribbean. http://www.castilloserralles.org . Inexplicably, it is not covered in most... More

This castle (actually is more a mansion than a castle) is overlooking the city of Ponce on a high hill estate that belonged to a very rich family of rum producers (Don Q, Palo Viejo, Captain Morgan, etc.). This place is adjacent to the "Cruz del Vijia" viewing platform. You can take a walking guided tour for a very low... More

After watching hte movie, you take a tour of the house and then into the yard to see the butterfly exhibit and garden. The walking tour lasted about a hour or so, guide was good at details concerning the family life and the business (sugar cane & rum) of Don Q. The coconut piggy bank at the shop is too... More
