I was not excited about touring a coffee plantation but my husband really wanted to go so off we went. How wrong I was! First of all, the drive is really beautiful - up the side of a mountain about 3500 ft up. When we were about 75% of the way there we came across the creepiest "shrine" I have... More

I cannot speak highly enough about Hacienda Pomarrosa! Kurt and Sebastian are truly talented and special people. Kurt started our tour off by giving a fascinating history of how coffee arrived in Puerto Rico. Sebastian served us amazing iced coffee to cool off while we listened. After Kurt finished wowing us with his knowledge, Sebastian took us around the beautiful... More

While vacationing in Isla Verde, I wanted to do something different on this PR trip and I convinced my hubby to drive me about 2 hours south and up and up and up into the mountains in Ponce. Finally arriving at Pomarrosa, we met the owners and were served the most delicious coffee (with no milk or sugar) Ive ever... More

I had never visited a coffee plantation and being locals, we thought it could be something fun and different to experience. We got in the car and drove at least 2 hours, taking the risk to see if it would be open when we arrived. Once we got there we learned that the tours of the plantation are by reservation... More

We had the wonderful opportunity yesterday to meet Sebastian at his lovely coffee farm in the hills of southwestern PR. I will start by saying we made the 3 hour journey from Rio Grande especially for the tour as we read in several places that it was worth the drive. Our expectations were not only met, but far exceeded. Upon... More

My wife and I came with my parents to visit this beautiful coffee "hacienda" in the mountains of Puerto Rico. The winding road up is a little scary, but totally worth it. Do not follow your gps--make sure to print and bring the emailed directions. The drive from San Juan took a little over 2 hours (and I am not... More

Kurt and Sebastian gave the two part tour with accompanying coffee drinking in roughly 2.5 hours and it cost $20 per person We learned so much about the history of coffee and about the nuances that separate the quality coffee from the crap that Starbucks serves. All of the steps from plant to cup happen at the Hacienda Pomarrosa and... More

Kurt and Sebastian were extremely welcoming, funny, and knowledgeable. Their small farm/property is absolutely stunning, so if you wanted to take advantage of their bed and breakfast, you wouldn't be disappointed. This place is a definite must see. This family takes pride in the coffee that they grow and produce. The coffee is roasted and bagged on site by hand, so... More

We have visited several coffee farms in Central America and the Pacific over the years. The presentation and tour given by Kurt and Sebastian Legner was excellent. You have an opportunity to meet the owners, sample the coffee (which is terrific), learn about the origins of the beverage, and tour the operation. Allow at least two hours. Better yet, arrange... We had the best time with the owners of this coffee plantation. We started with a cup of coffee and home made banana nut bread, made with bananas they grew. They shared with us the history of coffee and how it eventually ended up in Puerto Rico. Kurt, the father, is an excellent story teller and kept our attention for... More
