Our trip to Puerto Rico would not have been complete without a stop into a coffee hacienda. After reviewing a few, I just had a feeling that Pomarrosa would be the best and my gut was right. Kurt is a wonderfully inviting host who is very knowledgeable about the current and past coffee industry around the world. Our tour began... More

We've read Trip Advisor reviews of many and varied establishments over the years in the course of our vacation planning, but Hacienda Pomarrosa is the only one we'd seen that was universally rated 5 Stars--or, rather, Dots--and this applies to both their Attraction and Lodging reviews. Based on a February visit by our party of three, we heartily endorse both... More

This coffee farm is a little off the beaten path, but definitly worth the drive. Be prepared for curvy, narrow, mountain driving. But once you arrive you forget the stress of the drive. We were welcomed by Kurt who served us coffee and homemade banana bread (made with banana's grown on site) and began telling us the history of coffee.... More

We took the drive to Hacienda Pomarrosa: 2 adults and 4 kids 9-14. The drive is a classic inland "into the mountains" drive. You see beautiful scenery, and if you come from the north, you get tho see how different the south is, The mountain drive is very curvy and the road narrow. We saw it as an adventure! We... More

Hacienda Pomarrosa is truly wonderful. Gorgeous setting and a lovely break from the heat and humidity of the coast. The tour starts with a very informative presentation on the history of Puerto Rican coffee, where you also get delicious cake and as much delicious coffee as you can drink. Sebastian is an expert barrista. After that, a walk through the... More

This was a very educational tour. My husband, 18 year old niece all enjoyed it. After a beautiful drive through the rainforest, we were met by the owner of the Hacienda. We were led to a an outdoor cafe where we had homemade banana bread to go with our freshly brewed Pomarrosa coffee. After an indepth conversation of the history... More

I can not say enough about the tour my family and I took at this coffee plantation. Karl, the owner, presents the history of coffee from it's origins in acient history to the current times. He covers world history including wars and transport/trade that include coffee. His studies and knowledge is vast. His enthusiasm in the subject makes even a... More

We are glad that we signed up for this unique experience. Tour started with some history about the introduction of coffee in the island followed by a description of bean cultivation, harvesting and selection. The owner, Kurt, has vast experience in this field and explained many of the issues that coffee growers face like lost crops due to hurricanes and... More

We had what should have been a 2.5 hour drive to Hacienda Pomarrosa ahead of us that day. But it rained, and rained, and we got a little lost. Because we knew we would be late for our scheduled tour time we called ahead and where told they would wait the tour until we arrived. Our scenic route up the... More
