OK, but I thought that I was going to see more artifacts, relics of ancient residents of the island. Too much time was spent on one particular artist, a photographer, and not enough on historical paintings. The docent's descriptions were very interesting, but spoke with broken english.

I learned stuff here that I never knew. It's awesome to see how Puerto Rico has evolved. This is a definite must and there is no fee to go.

I really enjoyed this museum. We had the option of an English speaking tour guide which we declined. The plaques are solely written in Spanish so you need the tour guide if you want to see what they say, or you need to be able to read in Spanish. The people who work there are super friendly. After we toured... More

You can take your time going through the rooms of this architecturally important building, and each room houses artifacts important to the history of Ponce. Well worth an hour of your time.

Coming from NY, expecting similar features I guess. It was very different, small quaint homes, personnel was friendly and very informative. Although I can read Spanish, would have like to have seen the translation in English as well, my Spanish is the best so reading it in English could have helped.

This museum is generally informative and is in a beautiful little house in town. It is only in Spanish so if you don't know the language it will be challenging. I went once before a few years ago and we were lucky enough to be able to get a tour with an English speaker. It made all the difference in... More

If you know Spanish and can easily read it, this museum is marginal at best. I myself am the only member of my family who understands and can speak Spanish. When we walked in we realized that everything was in Spanish! While the people at the front desk give you an English guide pamphlet, it does not thoroughly explain what... More

Detailed explanations, wide selection of PR artists. The rest of the collection is mostly kinds of things you've seen other and better of, but the PR section is well worth a close look.

In a relatively compact space the museum presents a thorough and exhaustive history of Ponce. Puerto Rico second city was a hot bed of activism during Spanish and US dominance. My one wish was there was more English interpretations of displays because understand only a moderate Almont of Spanish.

An excellent display of local history by topics - discovery, education, medicine, culture, etc. Well worth a visit.
