Our tour guide was GREAT! The whole museum is in Spanish and my family, speaking English needed him to walk us through! Very informative and I learned a lot!

Especially if you're a mainland Puerto Rican visiting the motherland!!! We actually went there as a second choice because the Art Museum was closed and I was blown away. They start at the VERY beginning from the formation of the island by volcanoes and tectonics and goes through all of the cultural evolutions of the island. Yes, it's all in... More

We were surprised by a picture that could be the twin to a family member of ours. It was surprising. We enjoyed the history of Ponce. It is a beautiful building of old Puerto Rico. We found a great local restaurant which was recommended by the docent attending the museum.

We arrived on a weekday, and the gentlemen at the desk were very friendly, and willing to speak to us in Spanish slowly enough that we could understand. We really wanted to speak in Spanish on this trip, and sometimes, our halting attempts inspired the locals to switch to English. I appreciated his willingness to let us go on in... More

Great museum just a short walk from the main square in a beautiful house. It is filled with good visual displays in multiple rooms depicting the history, culture, and settlement of Ponce mostly in Spanish. However, we were given pamphlets in English which helped. It covers many different topics that would be of interest to most. Highly recommended.

The museum had some very interesting history of the city and island. Ponce is one of the main attractions for any history buff.

Although a number of these small museums dont shout out to be visited ( as they look like very nice homes from the outside) most have a person in a type of uniform stood in the doorway so just ask. We were shown around by a very enthusiatic young lady who spoke with passion and pride in her voice when... More

I really thought it would be more than rum in the history of Ponce! The city is nice and interesting as well as the firestation, but as for museums it is really not that interesting. San Juan has much more to offer.

Special thanks to Ronald, who was an amazing guide and excited to tell me everything about his hometown. Ponce is full of a lot of history and culture, from the mudslide to Carnival, and I enjoyed learning all about it here. Ronald also recommended a great restaurant around the corner. It's free to get in so be sure to stop... More
