Great place to learn

Great place to learn about the history for Ponce. Everything really works on details. We had a very good, informed guide.

The history of this museum begins as you walk into this charming 100 year old building. You can do a self guided tour or wait for a staff member. Great detail of the Señoral city of Ponce.

there was so much to see in Ponce, not just the museum. Go to the cathedral, esquisit. the fire museum. Look at and read all of the Lions around the town, each one reresents an event. Walk around the center of town. At the fire museum get a map of the city.Go to the music hall and school and explore... More

Our tour guide was GREAT! The whole museum is in Spanish and my family, speaking English needed him to walk us through! Very informative and I learned a lot!

Especially if you're a mainland Puerto Rican visiting the motherland!!! We actually went there as a second choice because the Art Museum was closed and I was blown away. They start at the VERY beginning from the formation of the island by volcanoes and tectonics and goes through all of the cultural evolutions of the island. Yes, it's all in... More

We were surprised by a picture that could be the twin to a family member of ours. It was surprising. We enjoyed the history of Ponce. It is a beautiful building of old Puerto Rico. We found a great local restaurant which was recommended by the docent attending the museum.

We arrived on a weekday, and the gentlemen at the desk were very friendly, and willing to speak to us in Spanish slowly enough that we could understand. We really wanted to speak in Spanish on this trip, and sometimes, our halting attempts inspired the locals to switch to English. I appreciated his willingness to let us go on in... More

Great museum just a short walk from the main square in a beautiful house. It is filled with good visual displays in multiple rooms depicting the history, culture, and settlement of Ponce mostly in Spanish. However, we were given pamphlets in English which helped. It covers many different topics that would be of interest to most. Highly recommended.

The museum had some very interesting history of the city and island. Ponce is one of the main attractions for any history buff.
