Up on the hill overlooking Ponce is the "Don Q" home (El Museo Castillo Serralles). Don Q is an excellent rum and you can sample different varieties on the tour either before or after ... well maybe both... as the view from the veranda outside the tasting room is spectacular as well as the strolling gardens below. You will learn... More

We took the steep road just north of central Ponce to view this house built in 1930s. The short film was interesting as it told of the sugar and rum history on the island and how the industry grew and prospered. We were lucky to arrive just in time to go on the English tour, which is the only way... More

We visited the former home of the Serralles family who started making Don Q rum. We bought a bottle of their 5 Star rum and I am waiting for a special occasion to open it. There are a lot of stairs here so my husband found himself a shady spot to wait on a veranda while I took the tour... More

Serralles Castle it’s a unique tourist attraction on Puerto Rico. It’s a very beautiful place to visit located in Ponce established in a mountain where you could see the whole town. Ponce it’s known to be one of the greatest settlements of Spanish people back in the days. This is why you see a very colonial environment when you approach... More

If you want to get away from the touristy areas for a while I suggest taking the scenic drive to El Museo Castillo Serralles, it’s worth the trip. The views from here are unbelievable, the history and architecture are fabulous. Like others mentioned our GPS took us to a dead-end. Once we got back to a main road our GPS... More

Don't miss the tranquil Japanese gardens in the shadow of the main house. The little shop at the base of the cross was also really intriguing.

We enjoyed our tour of this historical home. Beautifully restored with many original features. We were interested to Learn about the sugar cane production and making of Don Q rum. You can buy a drink or rum to take with you on the property. We also visited the Japanese gardens and huge cross with observation deck. Don't skip visiting Ponce's... More
