Deserted Boardwalk

We visited on a Monday afternoon and the boardwalk was abandoned but apparently its much more crowded on the weekends.

This is a boardwalk. People visit this place day and night. Lots of kiosks to eat seafood and other great food. Great ambience.

We went during the weekday...all that was open were just a few bars and a few little restaurants...but, the views were simply out of this world....and crystal clear water from the boardwalk...awesome!

First, after seeing some of the other reviews, I need to clarify, La Guancha is NOT the beach. It is a boardwalk in the harbor. The harbor view is beautiful. La Guancha itself is even more beautiful. Really, really nice and beautiful walk. The beach itself is a walk away. There are two scenarios here. One is on weekdays, the... More

A group of us headed from our hotel in Ponce via taxi to the beach and boardwalk here so we could see the Caribbean and enjoy being near the water. It was a nice afternoon and we enjoyed ourselves. Our taxi dropped us off at the beach first where we waded a little in the water and walked along the... More

This was my wife's and my first stop in Puerto Rico. We are used to the Boardwalk and Pier in Redondo Beach CA. and found this as interesting. The park surrounding the beaches is nice and there are lots of things for kids and families. The Boardwalk was a lot of fun. The food stands look quite good but the... More

La Guancha is one of the best place at Ponce to spend time with the family. You can walk around the boardwalk and if you have kids, they can feed the birds and the fish. Kids also can ride their bikes and scooters aroud the Guancha area. There are different small restaurants and stores, places that you can eat puertorican... More

Enjoy with the family, friends or love one. Has a tall view tower & enjoy the sites of La Guancha. Have a few cold local beers "Medalla"... More

Visiting the boardwalk in La Guancha is a beautiful experience. La Guancha has a beach, an observation tower, an amphitheater, and many kiosks. The food at each of the stands was delicious with wide varieties of appetizers called pinchos:) My favorite was the karaoke. One favorite restaurant was Paseo Tablado La Guancha.
