I was very pleasantly surprised by how large, and nice the boardwalk was. We were there on Christmas day, late morning, so it wasn't very busy, the views of the marina from the boardwalk were great. Lot's of parking, very clean, safe, lot's of restaurants, little patio's and vendors. A really enjoyable place to spend a few hours.

See how Ponce's residents enjoy their free time. Great ambience and prime people watching. Bars and small restaurants in the open air.

Firstly, it's not a beach. There is more grass than sand along the shore. Secondly, there is algae everywhere in the water. Lastly, it's a small beach! Would not recommend at all!!

Nice boardwalk. they have concerts and stuff like that sometimes. lots of kiosks with goodies.. Puerto Rican fritters. they sell sardines for you to feed the Pelicans . People like feeding the fish too. Some stray dogs in the area also. if you go, pls, think about taking some dog food or leftovers for the dogs. They suffer a lot... More

My family and I visited Puerto Rico this past Christmas and one of the places we went was La Guancha. We loved the place. It is well maintained and safe for small kids. We fed the fishes and the birds with a bag of bait we bought for a $1. My kids loved that. Also, we ate some ice cream... More

It was the night before Halloween when I came, which happened to be a Thursday night. When I arrived around 8:30 pm, there was a Zumba class wrapping up. There were people out, but no large crowds, maybe because everyone would probably be out the next night. There's a long strip of bars and restaurants. Every stand has pretty much... More

A local friend took us there on a Friday afternoon, busy with families and couples but not overly so. Strolled, really enjoyed the brazen pelicans, big fish near the board walk and the boats in the marina. Look and savor. Don't rush. Ate a fab seafood meal at Kiosko 17 (tango). Plenty of parking. Beach nearby, good for wading, limited... More

We went to la Guancha in November to enjoy the beach. There was broken glass everywhere and you could only swim to about thigh height before you would be standing on a huge coral barrier. Playa santa in Guanica is not far from here and a much better beach.
