Cool, peaceful stop to make, right in the heart of the historic area of Ponce. The tourist bureau [in the firefighters museum] is right behind the Cathedral & other historic sites are nearby. It is definitely worth visiting for a half hour or so to see the interior decoration & artwork.

Superb piece of architecture and history. Mesmerising paintings and very ornate pieces adorn this church.

The cathedral is in a center of square like every Spanish colonial town, The outside of the building is well preserve, taking in consideration that the repairs and changes to the building has to be approved by the government historic preservation an this will take sometime a long period of time. Is hot but is the Caribbean. I went for... More

Lucked out to be in Ponce on Sunday and got to attend a mass. The music was beautiful and so was the cathedral. So glad I stopped.

While touring Downtown Ponce, I stopped in the Cathedral of our Lady of Guadeloupe. The church was well maintained. There were so many beautiful statues and artwork.

Beautiful and serene, old church which is a must see! Quiet place within a park area which had lion sculptures that were all painted different colors, you would have to go to see the wonderful works of art. Liked everything about this city.

The main cathedral is dedicated to our Lady of Guadalupe same as that in Mexico being it is the city's patron. On December 12 the mass of las mananitas takes place starting with a procession at 5 am from a nearby park (Lolita Tizol) about 2-3 blocks with mariachis commemorating the date of the virgin's aparition to Juan Diego.
