As of June 13, 2015 renovations are underway in this museum. Due to this, the second floor and many of its paintings are not available for the public. They are charging less for the entrance due to this inconvenience. The museum offers a diverse collection of paintings, photographs and sculptures. The photography section is a collection of Jack Delano's work... More

My husband and I visited this lovely museum while in Ponce for auto racing. Out front is a gorgeous Lichtenstein sculpture and the building is pretty cool. There is an extensive collection of Pre-Raphaelite's and there was an interesting exhibit by a local artist while we were there. BUT, Flaming June, the painting they are famous for having, was in... This museum is really great. Is not big if you don't want to pass 6 hours in a museum. You dont need to pay a tour to go. The entrance is cheap and they have free tours inside. Call in advance to know the departs hours of the tours. If you are in Ponce you need to go

The permanent exhibition it's very exquisite, I really enjoyed hanging out at the pomegranate garden :) I also liked the Jack Delano 100 years exhibition, the photos are amazing to see thru the history of Puerto Rico. If you're at Ponce don't miss out on this one.

Spent a few hours here on our trip to the area and we enjoyed the special exhibits, as well as the area around the museum. It wasn't crowded at all and admission was less than $10/person.

You enjoy the master pieces by your own or with a guided tour (recommended in order to learn if the first time). Just having "Flaming June" by Sir Frederic_Leighton in front of you worths everything. If you love art, try this museum.
