The beach at Dorado is absolutely beautiful. When we were there it was a little rough for swimming, but gorgeous nonetheless.
At first we were a little scare of going because they had warn about big waves and currents, but when we got there it was spectacular. Very small waves, radiant sun and everything very clean and simply beautiful!!! Parking is $3 per car, but theres parking outside. There are bathrooms and a small kiosk.
Safe swimming beach for kids, large breakwater knocks the waves down. Water is warm and clean. Beach is uncrowded.
Living in Dorado, very close to this beach I am very partial. However, I can describe objectively this beach. It is one of the best beaches around. Huge parking area, showers, a lot of places to eat and drink right in front and an open sea area as well as several protected by breakers. Tip: with low tide if you... More
Very nice beach, soft sand and blue waters. Beach might be a bit small (in width that is), but it still a very nice place to swim. lovely background with palm trees and other vegetation. Some days can be windy, but this is not a problem for swimmers as long as they don ot go beyond the bay limits. I saw... More
wow we had such a marvelous time enjoying this beautiful beach and bonus nearby quaint cafes and bars. The locals are very friendly and seemed like always willing to help visitors. I wish there weren't so many imported non native iguanas around the area and less garbage. It is a shame to have to see such natural paradise ruined by... More
We own condo in Dorado and enjoy our yearly visits to the island. The beach is right across the road so we take advantage of it first thing in the mornings and late evenings on days we are off exploring other sites and visiting family. This beach has wave breakers which make for a calm beach with very small waves... More
This is a good sized, quiet beach. It's out of the way, so it isn't crowded, but the presence of the nearby hotel makes it safe. It's a little dirty, but the water it's gorgeous, and the cove means great waves when the conditions are right.
Quiet & safe. The town of Dorado itself is one of the finest "quality of life" places in PR. You won't find pan handlers here. You will find opportunities for hot air balooning!
The beach was not the best one we seen. It was a little dirty. BUT the cool part was walking around the "lagoon" and up to the top of the lava rocks on the East side. There is a path that will lead you up there, and it has the best ocean views in Puerto Rico. Amazing experience!
