This zoo is in desperate need of improvements the basics are there but someone need to help it along .Considering it`s close location to a major college why not reach out and ask for volunteers to at least pick up litter and garbage in exchange for free admission Another thought is to get some corporate funding from some U.S companies... It sure looks like it's government funded because private enterprise wouldn't let it get into this condition. Don't get me wrong, it's not at all in total disrepair. The staff are hard working and dedicated. They just don't have the funds to turn this into the type of attraction that it could be. Simple thing like color coded (follow the... More

My visit to the Mayaguez Zoo was very exciting since every time I go it’s a new experience with family or friends. My last visit was about two months ago with my parent and grandparents. We spend a beautiful sunny morning looking to different animals regardless of the not so active behavior of them. Although the infrastructure is not the... More

Love this park, it is so peaceful and have so many exotic animals, this is a place to learn about them or simply a nice place to be relax and enjoy the birds singing, if you are in the western side of the island and you or your kids are animal lovers, this is the place to visit.

Visited the first time and didn't know that the two exhibits that I was interested in were closed from 11:30-1:30.(Aviary and the butterfly exhibit). arrived at 11 and wasn't able to enter either. Other random complaints about the first visit was, no food available, animals seem bored, bathrooms locked, no one around to ask questions about the exhibits and closed... More

You think you are going to see animals in their habitats, healthy and happy. No way! I feel for those animals, they look under nourished. The hippo has a mini pool that barely covers his feet, imagine if he wants to sink in? I believe that maybe people should start visiting more and perhaps with the income, they can give... More

We really enjoyed the little zoo in Puerto Rico. It is small but really entretaining. I read that there is shows within the zoo, but we didn't get to see any of them. There is no giraffe in the zoo at this time. My favorite animal was the elephant! The only down side to this cute little place is that... More

Very nice zoo in Puerto Rico. You can't compare it with other places but it's a nice visit. Nice variety of animals to see. I would recommend.
