This place is fine for walking or exercising. People bring their kids here to ride their bicycles, roller skate, etc. It's not a tourist attraction. But if you're in the area, it's a good place to rest or get a little exercise.

If like to get a little taste of history with a little exercise this is a nice place to visit. In the park you will find Busts of the historical figures of Mayaguez.
As a native Mayaguezano visiting my hometown on vacation from the Mainland back in 2007, I found the Parque de los Proceres in an abandoned state. Overgrown grasss, garbage everywhere, polutted foul smell non-working water fountains. Not a pleasant place to visit as a tourist
