Ironically, it is easy to grow stunning tropicals in Puerto Rico, and I DO realize the focus is on native plants, but this place is dull, and hot, and uninspired. Whoever runs it should be fired, pronto. Just visit any botanical garden in Forida, Texas, or California (see Balboa Park) and you will see why this place is so substandard.... More

Once we arrived at Jardin Botanico we found an information center/ gift shop and grabbed a map. The map didn't help us much but it did have some useful information. Between the map lacking street names and the gardens themselves not being marked clearly or at all it was a bit of a nightmare to navigate through. My advice would... More

Enjoyed walking around the greenery and seeing the sculptures and trees. Saw more wildlife there than we did in El Yunque! It was free and easy to access (you do have to follow the driving directions - it is not the kind of place you just happen by, and the roadside signs are a bit rough) It was a perfect... More

I know some people have left negative reviews about the botanical gardens in Puerto Rico, but I find the place amazing, and here's why. Most botanical gardens are very beautiful but completely artificial. What I like and love about the one in Puerto Rico is that as you walk by, you're not looking at flowers someone planted and arranged, but... More

San Juan has few parks to get away from all the cement, traffic, noise so this botanical garden is a lovely retreat. Lots of beautiful old trees, exotic flowers and ponds full of turtles among bamboo. The one thing lacking is a cafeteria but you can bring a picnic and make a day of it. It's great for kids who... If you love your mother... nature this is the place to come and spent quality time with her. Ponds, plants, flowers, trees, birds and just right in the middle of metro area. Runs by the University of Puerto Rico Jardin Botanico is home for the President office. Relax and walk around. Mingle with nature and take a breath away of... More

The grounds were gorgeous, and walking along the paths by the ponds provided us with a few dozens photos of birds, fish, turtles and one very friendly heron. There were lizards everywhere, and lots of colourful flowers and interesting leaves ( what can I say...I'm a horticulturalist and this is the kind of place I love). The price was great... More

We were amazed at the beauty and diversity of the gardens. We had visited the rain forest the day before with our tour guide Jack Ramon. Even though the park was crowded, Jack steered us to areas few visit with natural pools and waterfalls. The Next day he took us to the Jardin Botanico and it was really unbelievable. We... More

We had a little time to kill before our flight back home and we saw this place on the map. It was so quiet, peaceful and beautiful. They have done an amazing job to make this place, worth the time to go if you are looking to spend a couple hours a tranquility.
