We were amazed at the beauty and diversity of the gardens. We had visited the rain forest the day before with our tour guide Jack Ramon. Even though the park was crowded, Jack steered us to areas few visit with natural pools and waterfalls. The Next day he took us to the Jardin Botanico and it was really unbelievable. We... More

We had a little time to kill before our flight back home and we saw this place on the map. It was so quiet, peaceful and beautiful. They have done an amazing job to make this place, worth the time to go if you are looking to spend a couple hours a tranquility.

Free admission. Spent a few hours walking among mature trees. Some of the largest bamboo and palms I have ever seen. Lots of turtles and birds.

It cost me $25 each way from our hotel to go to this place but I have been to botanical gardens around the world an usually really enjoy them. This one is quite nice but walking around on your own you just don't get the full feel for it. Plus all the signs on things are in Spanish, so if... More

I assume this is the Rio Piedras JB and not Caguas. Both are gorgeous but Rio Piedras is the first one and the variety of flowers, trees and plants gives you a better sense of the natural ecosystem and habitat of the island and to some extend the Caribbean. The staff there were very nice and willing to answer questions... More

In the past few years this lovely garden has gone downhill. Paths are available to wander in and out of lots of trees, plants, but there is a sense of disuse and allowing overgrowth and disinterest in keeping it up.

We visited the jardin botanico and noticed that it works fine but with extreme bureocracy, as any government entity. We asked a brazilian gentelman who was around and he told us this is more of an educational and scientific venue rather that a tourist attraction. It is true. We had visited years ago and we could se that there is... More
