Lifeguards are a scam!

There is a gentleman who wears a red outfit and carries a red board posing as a lifeguard here. He asks for donations. He claims the Puerto Rican government won't pay for a life... read more

Beautiful beach! But next to our nice hotel (Marriott Stellar Casino) on one side was a gutted building looking like it was ready to be razed -- and on the other side, elaborate graffiti on a wall of a low-rise building. On the street at night we saw a homeless man sleeping in the outside entrance to a building, and... More

There are no life guards, which I already knew. I had called the hotel and they did inform us there are none. The beach is alittle small. Do not leave your belongings on the sand. They will get wet. The waves come half way up the sand. The water is very rough. Not recommended for children in my opinion. The... More

So we came here based on the reviews. Everyone one of the good reviews must be staying at the beach hotels in condado bc the public beach (playita del condado) is awful. It's on the street so trucks, buses, cars with loud music, gas fumes, etc etc...you will hear them and smell them ALL. The beach itself is maybe 300-400... More

Pretty rugged beach that few actually swim at. What is interesting is the number of multi-million dollar hotel properties right beside incomplete or abandoned commercial properties.

There is a gentleman who wears a red outfit and carries a red board posing as a lifeguard here. He asks for donations. He claims the Puerto Rican government won't pay for a life guard here and asks beach goers for donations. He has no certifications and does not knw cpr. The local authorities and residents are trying to get... More

An average beach. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for about $20. Need to be very careful if you go in the water as there is an undertow. We saw 3 people needing to be rescues in a span of 5 minutes. 1 person ended up being taken away by ambulance.

Both days we were there red warning flags flew. However, the surf didn't look rough, but maybe an undertow was present. No place to sit unless you brought chairs or stayed at a beachfront hotel.

In contrast to Miami/South Beach the sand here is coarser. The breeze is relaxing as is the fresh air. Would welcome a stand pipe to clean my feet when leaving he beach.

Condado Beach was just a block from the condo we rented. It was a Sunday and very crowded. At first we were sitting near a group that was playing very loud music which got annoying so we moved further down the beach. It was still crowded but at least more quiet. There are places where you can find shade if... More
