Make this stop part of a walking tour of Old San Juan. The church has some beautiful architecture to see. Of course the novelty of seeing Ponce de Leon's tomb makes history come to life. Don't have to make this a long visit but it is worth stopping by to view the history that is beautifully preserved here.

Beautiful...an absolute must see. A short walk to the gate and excellent views of the old"walled city". Take the time to explore the corners and vestibules of the church...the original foundations and stones are breathtaking.

This is a nice place to stop by and see - the inside is quite pretty and Ponce de Leon is buried there, so there is some historical significance. We also happened by when a wedding was happening and that was something to see! Haven't seen a full catholic wedding in a while, and it was nice to see how... More

This church is really beautiful and the history is quite amazing. Ponce de Leon's tomb is inside which was amazing even to our teenage sons.

I'll be the dissenter here. Considering the churches and cathedrals I've previously visited, this site was average, but historical to me. There were aspect of this site I appreciated, but it wasn't overwhelming to me. Still worth a visit though!

While this isn't a big cathedral, it is well-maintained and offers some interesting history, including the tomb of Ponce de Leon. There is some beautiful religious artwork and it's worth stopping for about an hour or so, especially as it is included in several walking tours of Old San Juan.

The Cathedral is a beautiful building, full of history and incredible architecture. It is spirit-filled and in a beautiful part of Old San Juan. Don't miss the view down the front street towards the Bay.

Beautiful Cathedral on old San Juan. Peaceful. Don't forget to go to the Convent Hotel. This used to be the convent. Beautiful courtyard and restaurant

What a nice cathedral. It's not like the big ones out there, but the details are superb. I actually like that they haven't repaired/ repainted some of the details as it looks very original. However, I did not like that some of the upper windows were simply boarded up.

This is a beautiful cathedral worth the visit, but nothing to compare with the great churches of Europe. However it is sad to see that it is in great needs of repair. In the inside the water infiltration has caused irreversible damages to most painting that are now faded or peeled off.
