Ponce De Leon's burial site

A cathedral with a lot of history and in walking distance to all of old San Juan. Masses are said for the Catholics as this is a working church.

Don't go expecting a cathedral on the scale of the ones in Europe and you won't be disappointed. This little cathedral is very old, and is still in use today (don't be that guy that disrupts services or people at prayer). Ponce de Leon's tomb is here and there are a few other points of interest, but I wouldn't plan... More

Juan Ponce de Leon rests here, and there is a wonderful sense in this building. Enjoyed sitting and reflecting for a few minutes - there is a calm and peace here which is relaxing

Beautiful piece of history. The architecture is just amazing. We stayed at the El Convento opposite and really felt like we were exploring a different time.

It's hard to miss the Catedral, as it is much more than a house of worship. You will see locals and tourists all around the church, sitting on benches, talking with each other. We visited twice and both times saw weddings taking place. The cathedral is beautiful, one of the oldest cathedrals in the Americas. I thought visiting just before... More

San Juan Cathedral is simply wonderful. I love museums and sculptures, so this construction is just great to watch. If you go out to Old San Juan at night, you can grab a cab here on your way back to the hotel. Just beautiful!!!

This is worth the stop. It is where Ponce de Leon is buried. That is something to say you have seen!!! If time permits, do The Route of San Juan Bautista. This is a walking tour of the origins of Christianity of the New World in Old San Juan.

The Cathedral was very beautiful. We just happened to run into it as we were walking and it was such a treat to see the beautiful architecture and painted ceilings.

This cathedral definitely has the presence of Christ in it. It has such a soothing and spiritual feel inside. I took the time to pray for Puerto Rico, its economy and its people and my eyes filled with tears. I've been told that this is usually a good sign that God is answering your prayers. Aside from being architecturally stunning... More
