Plena music and coordinated documentary, mural, and postmodern work. Impressive oversize paintings with historical themes.

Here I learned about a famous Puertorriquen Artist named Rafael Tufino (1922-2008) Please take a look at his painting "La Plena" (1952-1954), Whoa! absolutely a fantastic piece of art!! The exhibitions are accompanied by a dynamic educational component. This museum offers critical insights into the collections. You will absolutely enjoy the exhibitions and don't forget to visit the garden -... More

Museum is a two story affair with different rooms depicting the history of Puerto Rico. Very well organized and put together. We just happened to stumble upon it while walking thru Old San Juan. Glad that we did.

Diversity is the spice of life. Interesting take on modern art. Loved that the man there kept a keen eye on us while we were there. We were told not to take pictures but the little kid in us was tempted. We were good and just enjoyed our time there.

Inside and out, this is a world-class museum with stunning art and a variety of interesting exhibits. We were there in time for the Marco Polo exhibition, room after room of artifacts from the times and places of his famous travels. If you go to Puerto Rico and love art, you must visit this beautiful museum.

This is a beautiful museum...the Marco Polo exhibit right now is fantastic. They have an amazing children's art education program located in the floors that were excavated and added below the historic main building. As usual, the museum shop has great items also!
