We really loved walking the beach in isla verde, outside our hotel. We could walk past many hotels and just people watch. The water is blue, but you can not see through it like expected. Plus there is a lot of seaweed this time of year. You have to wade through it to get to a clear spot in the... more

Filled with high rise hotels, most of which were constructed in the 60s and 70s. Typical fast food chain restaurants from the continental US. Mediocre beaches and completely lacking the charm and authenticity of the rest of the island. more

Single young female on business trip alone. First visit stayed at Condado Hotel and Casino was very nice, great strip of shops and restaraunts. Very small private beach. Would not choose if beach is important. I'm a beach lover so my 2nd visit I chose to stay on Isle Verde beach hotel. Not much time, so it was nice to... more

I agree with the previous review about isla verde being an urban beach- it's the metropolitan areas locals beach. But if you're really a beach bum- i completely disagree with his alternate recommendations- rincon, and isabela are very rough beaches- people go there to surf. If you want beautiful, calm water and great views go to Luquillo, about 30 min.... more

If you have never been to the Caribbean, you might think Isle Verde is great. I've traveled extensively in the Caribbean and Isle Verde would be my last choice for a beach vacation. It is an urban beach with condos and hotels back to back. The water is calm, but it is not nearly as pretty as the waters of... more

Isla Verde is the most popular beach in the San Juan area. It is a crescent shaped beach area that spans about one mile along the northern coast of Puerto Rico. The beach itself is wide enough to accommodate a multitude of beach-goers. It is, of course, covered by sea-side condos and hotels. It is less than a mile from... more

We just got back from staying 5 days in a condo on this beach and it is truly the most wonderful beach to have right out your door. The sand is white, soft and still good for sand castle building. The water has small waves to play in and do a little body boarding. The water is warm and clean.... more

This was a fun trip. I have a 6 and 12 years old. We stayed in Isle Verde, in the heart of tourist area for seven days. Puerto Rico offers a lot more than sand and sun. The trip to El Yunque National Forest was the highlight of our trip. The rain forest is maintained well and the $3 voluntary... more
