This area is NOT your normal tourist area! Aquatika has RAZOR WIRE around the top. Loiza is a low poverty area with Aquatika stuck in the middle. I personally did not feel safe at times. Although there is a gate and a police station next door my husband & I never walked outside the gate or drove without our doors...

just go back from loiza pr. what a dump this place is the arm pit of the earth. I do not sugest vacationing in loiza. this place is full of poverty and is not good for tourists
Friday 25 of July was a great parade alongside the route 187 thru the city of Loiza and its adjacent "barrios". People wear costumes and play music. Traditional Food is everywhere. Also the National "BOMBA" Festival is celebrated that day and there is a competition of drums called "tambores" playing the Loiza Bomba rythm, bomba dancing and negro culture poems....
