The Rio Camuy caves were a definite must-do for my husband and I during our trip to Puerto Rico. Especially since I knew that the caves had been closed for an extended period of time due to an accident that occurred here a while back, I felt very privileged that they would be open during our visit. The caves are... more

Totally worth the $12 entrance fee. Don't bother with an expenses guided tours. Save some money by driving to the caves and taking the Park Tour. The rangers are very knowledgeable and are bilingual. Easy to get there; From Arecibo take route 129 south and you'll have no problems. There's also a bakery right pass the caves entrance on 129... more

By luck more than anything else, we ended up having a great experience at the Rio Camuy Caves. There was a threat of rain but when I called in that Friday morning they said they were open but couldn't guarantee that it would remain that way since it could rain and cause them to close. I couldn't ask much more... more

It's hard to believe that this cave system was kept hidden for so long. Amazing sights, huge cavern (170' tall, 200' wide), deep sinkholes (415' deep), etc. Just make sure you have your camera on the right setting to take pictures in the dimly lit cave. We didn't, and now we regret it, as we have numerous black photos. Luckily... more

We had a wonderful time at Rio Camuy Cave Park. We arrived at 8:20 on a Wednesday and were pleasantly surprised that we beat most of the staff! lol The tour operator was very knowledgeable and spoke loudly enough for everyone in the group to hear. She answered all of our questions with patience and you could tell she enjoyed... more

We got there at 1:30 to be told that our tour would start appx 3:30. With plenty of time to kill and empty stomachs, we decided to head over to El Taino (suggested by Park Officials-go figure). Appx 2 mins to the left of the exit-we arrived. It is basically no frills PR cuisine. Reasonable but slow. If you need... more

We drove two hours to the caves only to be told that they were closed because it had been raining! We had saved our "cave day" for a rainy day, because we decided that since the cave was "indoors", it would be a good idea to visit when we couldn't have a "beach day" due to rain. Apparently they are... more

The highlight of my whirlwind week-long trip to Puerto Rico were the Rio Camuy Caves. The $12 fee seemed like a bargain considering the tour and the quality of the caverns. Just be sure to arrive early, as the park allows only a limited number of guests each day. more

We visited the cave park on February 28th, only a few weeks after Clara Cave was reopened. We got there early, about 8:45, and were given a number that would be called when it was time to take our tour. We parked and went and bought our tickets. We were told the tour would be at 9:30. The time came... more
