Totally worth the $12 entrance fee. Don't bother with an expenses guided tours. Save some money by driving to the caves and taking the Park Tour. The rangers are very knowledgeable and are bilingual. By luck more than anything else, we ended up having a great experience at the Rio Camuy Caves. There was a threat of rain but when I called in that Friday morning they said they were open but couldn't guarantee that it would remain that way since it could rain and cause them to close. It's hard to believe that this cave system was kept hidden for so long. Amazing sights, huge cavern (170' tall, 200' wide), deep sinkholes (415' deep), etc. Just make sure you have your camera on the right setting to take pictures in the dimly lit cave. The highlight of my whirlwind week-long trip to Puerto Rico were the Rio Camuy Caves. The $12 fee seemed like a bargain considering the tour and the quality of the caverns. Just be sure to arrive early, as the park allows only a limited number of guests each day. more
