Great beach, lovely waves with a great view of the river meeting the sea. This beach was clear you could see 6 shades of blue in the water. There is a great restaurant that serve local food - the fish was fresh and prepared to order.

It's great for a few photos, but the fact that you have to pay $6 to get in makes it kinda not worth it. It's all tourists. It's small. And the water is chilly. But, again, the photos are good. Go to Winnifred Beach if you want some real beach action!

This is only a tourist beach - not a local beach as the 'reduced' residents price is too high for most local residents. I found this to be the most unfriendly beach in the whole of Jamaica. Food and Drink prices were also very high. I was really looking forward to visiting this beach as it has been on my... More

You have to pay to park & access the beach. The accommodations are far from good, with a multitude of problems.

This beach is located away from the highway on private grounds. There is an US$8-10 entrance fee. There are no hustlers or salesmen. Wireless access is available at the beach. The food is overpriced and mediocre. Example, The $7.00 Jerk Chicken Burger is a pre-processed and undercooked slab of undetermined material that does not taste at all like jerk chicken.... More

If you drive yourself, there is a 8.00 admission fee……. and it's totally worth it. Beautiful fresh water river meets the ocean! It's not a big beach, but so beautiful. The day we went it was not crowded at all. We had great service! It reminded us of some places in Thailand. Well worth going to spend the day!

We were in Jamaica (Ocho Rios) over the holidays and decided to take a day tour to the Port Antonio area. One of the attractions included in this tour was a visit to the Frenchman's Cove beach. We thought the beach was beautiful and enjoyed a delicious lunch while there, which was included with our tour. This tour started with... More

We were hesitant to go to beach with an $8/person entry fee - as we hate paying for any beach, but we found that at the end of the day, it was worth it. The river fed into the ocean is absolutely delicious. The views make for unbelievable memories and photos. I thought the food menu was reasonably priced -... More

The beach is lovely as you can see by the many photos on here, however we may have been unfortunate but the staff serving in the cafe were grumpy and sulky. We only bought a red stripe and a coffee, but we had to ask for milk for the coffee and it was as though I was asking for a... More
