If there ever is a "heaven on earth," this certainly is it or comes very close. The sea water itself can be rough but where you stand at the mouth (?) of a river, running into the pristine blue (Caribbean) sea, who's thinking of rough?! Frenchman's cove is best described....never! It's just best IN PERSON. Must Do: SWING on the... More

Beautiful little beach and much nicer than the blue lagoon. There is a little stream that comes down into the bay and is calm and cold. The cove is then warm and really good surf but shallow enough to be safe. Reasonably priced food and snacks.

We ended a long hot day with a dip in the ocean at beautiful Frenchman's Cove. The $10 per person entrance fee is well worth it! The water is a combination of cold mountain stream water mixed with warm sea water - the currents are surprising and wonderful. And you will bob around in the water knowing that you are... More

We spent about an hour here but could have been longer. The waves were a bit choppy but the water was warm and inviting. The food here is not the best, but we ordered a burger which is not what you do in Jerk town. The drinks were strong, but some may enjoy that. Beach was very nice!

But, because of the fresh river arriving in the see nearby, the hole cove gets an incredible cold water. Brrr !

Frenchman's Cove is a really beautiful place to hang around. The little river plus the cove are exceptional. Perfect for families with small children.

Frenchman's Cove is a fine beach. Solid way to spend a couple hours in the afternoon. It has an interesting river feeding into the cove which was enjoyable to explore. Water is great. Places to hose off salt water, bathrooms and changing rooms. On the downside, no local people, just tourists. Extremely slow restaurant service for below average food.

Beach had both salt and fresh water areas, there is a spring nearby that leads into the sea. Beach is surrounded by cliffs and water may be rough, keep children near by. There is a restaurant on the beach, not very good menu, bring own food. Had beach tables and chairs. Walking distance from parking to beach is a little... More

Have visited many times and gotten to know the property and local area. Really like being on the compound as well as access to Port Antonio.

A great family beach, most beautiful beach I've ever been. I love that there is a river meeting the ocean, which makes it easy for the kids to enjoy the calm of the river and not have to fight with the waves of the ocean.
