There is a $10 charge per person to get into Frenchmans Cove but it's worth the visit! As you enter you will feel like you are I. A botanical garden with gorgeous foliage and flowers! Felt like I was in Longwood Gardens...the duPont estate! As you walk/drive through the gardens you will come to the beach. It's a fun beach... More

Frenchman's Cove is a charming beach with amenities to sustain swimmers, and sun bathers for a day at the beach.

When the man sang " no place no betta than yaad oh lawd", he was dead serious. Though originally from Jamaica, I didn't realized just how beautiful the country truly is. I have lived abroad for over 30 years and am now just discovering the wonder and slender of Jamaica. I spent the weekend in Port Antonio at Frenchman's Cove,... More

We visited Frenchman's Cove last weekend looking for a romantic getaway...bwoy did we find it. It was one the most amazing natural properties here in Jamaica. The fauna and flora was so beautiful, we couldnt get enough. The beach was spectacular. It is definitely worth a return for us in December.

This is my children's favorite beach in the world. the surf is just rough enough to have fun. The is a cold fresh water stream that flows into the sea here. The boys wade over to the stream and jump from hanging trees into the crystal clear blue water. Amazing. There are services at this beach. You can rent a... More

See also my Winnifred Beach review - it had a slight edge over Frenchman's for me personally, because I was more interested in a local / un-commercialized beach (even if rocky underfoot). However, this is a gorgeous and pristine, limited-access beach, which is definitely going to be ideal for many. It sure was nice to swim barefoot!

A private beach that offers calm waters, a small river flowing into the bay, and a good restaurant. The water was rough the day we were there so couldn't snorkle but there are good spots if water was calm. Both Jamaican and foreign tourists enjoyed the quiet and several families with children played in the inlet from the river.

This small private beach is really great for a quiet day in the sun. It's 800JMD per person but it is worth it to avoid the crowds. You have to pay for reclining lawn chairs but the regular ones are free. The water is pretty cool in spots due to the river that feeds into the ocean here. There are... More
