Got to do this if you are in Port Antonio --- raft like Errol Flynn did. The rafting is fairly slow and peaceful. There is a stop mid way that you can get off and swim in the river and have some lunch. The lady (i forgot her name) brings all the food down from the mountain and cooks there... More

Our hotel arranged this trip for us and is was wonderful. Its a 2 hour ride on the river on a bamboo raft and the best way to see the totally unspoilt scenery of Portland.

We were looking for a relaxing quiet taste of Jamaica. We were staying in St Anns bay and hired Kevin Thomas 8764212587 for the time we were there. Kevin is based out of ocho rios but will take you anywhere you want to go. We chose to experience jamaica and he found us local seafood restraunt right by the local... More

Rally (from Rally tours (876)845-2307) negotiated good price to take a raft tour on Rio Grande. It was spectacular tour, worth its money. The raft Captain kept me occupied with lots of interesting stories about local nature and locals. Too bad I was without my family. Now I know nice places to visit in Jamaica with kids. Already planned a... More

Trident Hotel organized for us to raft and have lunch on the Rio Grande and it was a truly fantastic experience. rarely one can just hear the water, the breeze, the birds and nothing else and the lunch was delicious. Our "paddler" Walford, was terrific and helped make the excursion fun and special.

Local guides are very knowledgable about the area and the 1-2 hour trip goes by quickly. You will need sunscreen, and wear your swimsuit to take a cooling splash while you buy a drink, snack, or souvenir from vendors possibly even in their own raft drifting by.

Loved the quiet relaxing slow trip down the Rio Grande on a bamboo raft for two with a bamboo pole for propulsion, stopping off for a stunning jerk crayfish lunch

We loved the rafting trip! You spend anywhere from 2-3 hours on a 20' bamboo raft with a guide to escort you down the river, beautiful views of the mountains and lush greenery, several points to get off the boat and swim in the amazing, refreshing water. You can bring coolers with beer/food, or there is often a "floating bar"... More

All sorts of awesome!! Cost us about $70.00 US bucks (could have negotiated but we chose not to) plus tip but totally worth every penny. It's about 2.5 hours long and there's a beautiful spot to get out and swim and have a beer. Swim suit, fruit, some beers, and sunscreen and you're good to go!! It's wonderful!

We rafted this river on our second anniversary and it was one of the best days ever..our guides stopped three times at these incredible deep green pools to let us swim..the water was so clear even at twenty feet you could see straight to the bottom..we did stop in the middle to have an authentic jamaican cookout with this woman...
