This was a lovely experience. We were a party of 4, rented 2 bamboo rafts & brought a cooler w/ice cold red stripes to drink on that hot day. The captains were respectful, informative & flexible. The entire trip was approx 2 hours, but seemed shorter. At one point the captains allowed us to get into the water & hang... More

This was my no. 1 thing to do in Port Antonio and it surpassed my expectations. Our guide Becky was excellent and did everything possible to make our journey down the Rio Grande interesting. I loved the scenery going down the river, stopping for a swim in a deep pool, hearing Becky's stories.

Raft rides are still fun to do but I would not swim in water. It used to have more visitors but economy has hurt business.

We had a lovely 2.5 hour trip on the traditional bamboo rafts down the river. A very relaxed way to see the area. But it's a long trip. The "captain" works incredibly hard to punt the raft. But it's a long time and it gets hot! So take something to create some shade or some very strong sun cream! Guides... More

Three hours on the river, even though it was a little low, it was still beautiful. We ate at the river banks and visited scatter falls.

Beautiful waterfalls, and springs, the scenery is gorgeous, very pretty. They took me on the raft and we drifted along the riverside, it was very peaceful, serene and romantic, although I was with family, I would definitely go back with my lover.

Finally I rafted on the Rio Grande, very peaceful and relaxing. The entire trip takes 2.5 hours. I learned later if you would like a shorter trip it's possible. If you drive on your own, the official road signs will take you to rafters rest and that you'll have to take a taxi through town about 35 minutes from there... More
