This beach is quiet, with a long shallow entry. The water is crystal clear and the type of blue takes your breath away. It is shaped like a half-moon, hence the name. We visited with two small children, and the water is perfect for beginner swimmers. The owner has several dogs, but they are friendly with people. Tips: 1) Check... More

We didn't stay at the resort, but visited the private beach. This is an absolute MUST if you're visiting Negril. No solicitation allowed on this beach, makes for a hassle-free beach day. Lounges and hammocks around the small, protected bay are perfect and the beach is super quiet and peaceful. There's also canoes, snorkels and bamboo rafts to hire if... More

We went to Half Moon on our last full day in Jamaica. We had previously been to Seven Mile beach on the previous days, which, while beautiful, was full of people trying to sell us things. On our last day we wanted a break from that. You do have to pay $5 to get in, but it's worth it. We... More

My finance just asked me to marry him so we wanted somewhere private to spend the day. Our taxi driver recommended this place. Beautiful white sand beach, clear water and very few people. And no solicitation or vendors that are found on 7 mile beach. You can rent kayak/raft and there is a small restaurant. We chose to take a... More

I have been visiting Half Moon Beach for over 10 years, it has always been my favorite and still is. For the last few years Andrew & Tania have been making changes to all areas of the property. From improved landscaping, to the already beautiful space, to a variety of water activities; improved, delicious menu; more comfortable sun loungers under... More

We found an idyllic white sand beach, clear water, comfortable beach loungers and hammocks, and very few people. And no solicitation or vendors that are found on 7 mile beach. There were unobtrusive services such as restrooms, kayak/raft rentals, and a small restaurant. Snorkeling was not as good as on the reef but ok. It was one of the highlights of... More

Just a little outside of the seven mile beach is this great quite calm water cove. You can get there by taking a taxi for about $4 canadian. EASY When you get there you can either pay $2 to get in or go in and buy a drink or lunch their is a bar and restaraunt. The water is shallow... More

We stayed in Negril but spent 3 days at Half Moon Beach. It is quiet, you can snorkel right from the beach and their restaurant has great food. You can negotiate for a taxi ride--don't pay the $20 (US) that they will ask at first. We paid $5.00 for two of us and tipped $1.00 each way.
