We hired a taxi from the Negril beach area, which took about 30 minutes each way. Although officially closed we were able to negotiate a $10 entrance fee and one of the people working there took us around. It is a lovely place with all sorts of interesting birds and flora. Well worth a trip, especially now when there is... More

No crocks, fish, birds, wood walkway gets you into the wet lands of the Negril area. We used Juju tours and a great trip up the Negril river to get there. Be ready to walk, take a bottle of water as there is none to buy there.

This reserve is "closed" officially but to make it clear it is definitely open to those who wish to visit. The security guard took on us on a lovely tour acting as a very knowledgeable guide. He was very nice and we could have chatted to him all day. It looks ancient and untouched like the Jurassic park movie. Beautiful,... More

Hired "Angel's Tour" taxi for a fully-escorted trip to Royal Palm Reserve. From the Grand Lido Resort, the total trip was about 3 hours. We stayed at the Royal Palm Reserve for 1½ hours. You can contact Angel at 876 426 7188

Probably one of the best nature walks that I've been on in Jamaica. It's just sooo beautiful and the guide was very knowledgeable about birds and local flora. It's well worth a visit while you're on vacation in Negril.

I had heard some poor comments about this course, but I took a shot at it anyway and was pleasantly surprised. Played it three times. It's ALL HILLS. No flat holes at all. Fairways and greens are in good condition. Open course and a bit short. 5800 yards from the whites. Can run some money. $106 US for a round... More

Had a nice quite day viewing wildlife and plants. Sat down with the caretaker and had a beer and enjoyed his yarns. Dipped a rod into the water and caught a fish.

This place has now closed but visited here about four years ago. Nice to walk through the forest though did not spot any alligators!

The reserve is technicallty closed, but we were able to negotiate admittance and a guide for our walk on the boardwalk through the preserve and up a viewing tower. Our guide looked like just a guy maybe cutting the grass or something, but in fact was extremely knowledgeable of all the flora and fauna and their habits and habitat, including... More

It's technically shut but you can still go round and a huge part of the local nature, wild animals and weird plants. The staff will happily give you a detailed guided tour. Your guide wil even know the Latin names.
