Officially the place is closed. However you can go there and enjoy nature. The road for the last 2 km is just a dirt track, but you can get through. For 10 $ per person a proficient guide leads you around and explains a lot about what you can see. It is well worth the effort.

Truly enjoyed the elevated walkways. Bring comfortable shoes. The flora and birds are amazing and just to sit back close your eyes and listen to the sounds is a very peaceful experience. Will recommend to all to cisit

The elevated boardwalk made the exploration easy and enjoyable. The birds were the highlight for me. We saw a Jamaican Oriole, a male and female Doctor Bird, Mango Honeysuckle Hummingbird, West Indian Whistling Ducks, King Bird, White capped pigeons and a Red tailed Hawk. Reggae Tours took us there on a tour designed just for the two of us. If... More

While I've heard wonderful things about this place, and I really wanted to go and see it, it apparently had been closed for well over a year now... a pity indeed.

We hired a taxi from the Negril beach area, which took about 30 minutes each way. Although officially closed we were able to negotiate a $10 entrance fee and one of the people working there took us around. It is a lovely place with all sorts of interesting birds and flora. Well worth a trip, especially now when there is... More

No crocks, fish, birds, wood walkway gets you into the wet lands of the Negril area. We used Juju tours and a great trip up the Negril river to get there. Be ready to walk, take a bottle of water as there is none to buy there.

This reserve is "closed" officially but to make it clear it is definitely open to those who wish to visit. The security guard took on us on a lovely tour acting as a very knowledgeable guide. He was very nice and we could have chatted to him all day. It looks ancient and untouched like the Jurassic park movie. Beautiful,... More

Hired "Angel's Tour" taxi for a fully-escorted trip to Royal Palm Reserve. From the Grand Lido Resort, the total trip was about 3 hours. We stayed at the Royal Palm Reserve for 1½ hours. You can contact Angel at 876 426 7188

Probably one of the best nature walks that I've been on in Jamaica. It's just sooo beautiful and the guide was very knowledgeable about birds and local flora. It's well worth a visit while you're on vacation in Negril.

Had a nice quite day viewing wildlife and plants. Sat down with the caretaker and had a beer and enjoyed his yarns. Dipped a rod into the water and caught a fish.
