We spent a week at Riu Negril. The resort was o.k. We made a point to go to Rick's. We had seen it on the travel channel. We were greatly impressed! The isn't a cover charge, beer was only $2 and my husband had a steak there. His steak was the best he had on the whole trip, including the... more

For those that love the powder beaches and an almost endless 7-mile beach, Negril is the place for you. For me, the Royal Decameron beach was good enough. However, this trip IS worthwhile. While speaking with the Patty Man (best beef patties I have ever had), my wife filmed a stingray swimming in shallow water (just left of Margaritaville Negril).... more

Took my 2 teens there for the afternoon (daughter 16, son 18), and yes they both jumped from the 30 (?) foot cliff dive. They had a great band, the drink-of-the-day was reasonably priced, and the sunset was beautiful! Even if you arn't jumping take your bathing suit because they have a nice pool. Take single dollar bills to tip... more

We took a snorkeling tour from ClubHotel RIU and one of the stops was Rick's, which was the best part of the tour (snorkeling wasn't anything special). It's definitely a tourist trap, so go there expecting that, but it's certainly entertaining. Watching the divers (locals) do there thing was incredible and watching the tourists added some amusement. For those looking... more

This is a really fun way to spend an afternoon! The drinks are quite pricey, but it's a tourist trap, so what do you expect? You must witness the locals do their amazing jumps! I know it gets old tipping after awhile in Jamaica, but if you've got the cash to fly there, you've got the cash to drop a... more

If you're going to Negril then stopping at Rick's is a must. We went to Margaritaville before Rick's and were not impressed. Even if you don't jump it's still very entertaining to watch the locals. The people who give Rick's less then 4 stars either didn't jump or need to learn how to have fun. Side note...I was shocked by... more

The drive to Rick's Cafe is long, but I think it was worth it. There are people diving off a little cliff into the water - nothing too earth shattering but still fun to watch. You can jump too, despite the explicit and numerous warnings from the resort staff. You just have to pay a little bit of money to... more

While visiting Jamaica on several occasions we have been to Negril to the world famous Ricks Cafe to watch the sun go down, this is always a lovely experience and really one not to be missed, why you might ask when you can see the sunset from loads of other locations is this a better place to see the sunset,... more

I had read a few reviews and heard a few stories of Ricks Cafe before my mid March 09 visit to Negril. I had decided I would visit before I left but new it would be a tourist trap. We actually got talked into going by some local friends that we had made on our first night. I'm so glad... more

We went to Rick's Cafe during our trip to Negril because all the hotel staff and locals you talk to say "You have to check it out!" After going there I now see why they say that. It is an overpriced, over hyped tourist spot. There were no locals there when we went except for those who were running around... more
